Dad your a bungie apologist and this is coming from someone like myself that no lifed D1...I love destiny and I have spent more time on it than I should but you are not what the committee needs. We need change for the better and if blasting, screaming yelling and kicking at bungie is the only way to get them off there lazy butts then so be it. Sometimes just staying calm and talking about it doesn't do anything

Maybe also realize the guy who originated this all isn't exactly the best source for truthful or unbiased reporting http://deepfreeze.it/journo.php?j=jason_schreier These are just the more egregious lies, and don't count the numerous times he's just been wrong about stuff. Among the hit parade: defended gamergaters, repeatedly; caused a 40 million dollar lawsuit against someone based on lies, half-truths and personal opinion (he's also under suit for having been the epicenter of that); thinks journalistic integrity is pointless and shouldn't be adhered to; lied his ass off repeatedly on Twitter regarding a poll kotaku held because it put him in a negative light, and many more! Then he turns around and writes a book where he says any game released by any studio anymore is a major labor of love and the result of heartfelt dedication and belief in what they are releasing. You know, almost a complete reversal of how he writes in his articles.

No your right dad, everything works perfect, its added lots more depth from D1, loads of new weapons and enemies (phew no reskins), 4v4 is what every1 was CONSTANTLY asking for and thank -blam!- they didnt add dedicated servers like COD 10+ years ago, cos Im not paying more for a game for a stable connection...-blam!- that. Now light doesnt matter in iron banner or trials BUT this is the smart bit, it doesnt matter cos only 100k people play trials now! so they saved loads of time and money for the rest of the game! Thats smart! I know 100k was D1s lowest only when D2 beta came out, but thats what a sequel is....evolution. Now we have no choices for class, same weapons mainly and no new enemies, so every1 doesnt have to learn new shit...man Bungie are smart as -blam!-...thats so clever. Who needs content??? its prob the most over rated thing ever. I had so much loot in D1 it got boring so im glad now Bungie have removed it all and put it behind eververse, least now i can just go 1 place to see the shit i wont get. I also think its great the game cannot be replayed, as now you can buy the game for 14.99, only months after launch when it came out for 60....now if that isnt Bungie being nice to the community i dont know what is!!! Cant wait for D3 im going to preorder the DeejsTongueDildoMyAss Edition 100%
-
Ok. My post was to simply point out it was fake news. You don't get listened to by posting rants and acting like idiots.
-
Clearly you do though. I never kicked off during D1 at all, but any improvements we have had in D2 are simply down to one thing...us going mental. If we didnt take Bungie to task over a number of things they have lied about we would still have xp throttling and many other things. In my eyes this game is a rotten corpse already that cannot be saved but any improvements that do get made, will be off the back of the fans/players demanding it.
-
Well so far they haven't said anything. The worst thing they could do is respond to the people screaming and yelling. That just creates more screaming and yelling in the future when other changes are needed. You can take them to task but when it ends up with "DeejsTongueDildoMyAss" like you ended with you think that is taken seriously? God I hope not. You shouldn't be listened to. I will agree they have done themselves no favors by creating this toxicity but the game won't be changed changed to appease everyone. That is impossible. They won't remove eververse completely as this is impossible. Before you tell me its not remember Activision is behind them and how many other games do they own and contain MTX? Removing it here would have a cascading effect on all of their games and that won't happen.
-
I'm not saying this game doesn't have flaws or is lack luster in content. Do I believe without a doubt that bungie will make fixes to the game, no...I can only hope they will. Do I still play and enjoy this game daily? Yes... Will I continue to play this game? Yes... but most of what I have read about this guys comments just smells fishy..... only time will tell...

Dude satire and comedy is the only way to really look at D2 as its beyond painful when you look at the strategy for D2. Id love to be playing it now its just impossible for me to do it and enjoy it. At the same time if i bought the game and was sold promises of continuity, I have a right to feel cheated if they sell me a reboot that started a year and half before release... Its not what we asked for and the reason we dont have that is greed and ignorance/arrogance. If i say i love D2 so much i cant wait to buy D3 and will order the goldendildo edition, its not cos i expect them to seriously consider bringing it out lol Its more the fact the premium editions are just paying to get bent over in my eyes.... Sometimes people have a justified point but just chose to say it in a harsh or stupid way, that reflects their character for sure, but it doesnt mean there isnt any merit in what they are saying. I do actually think now as this plays out and i lose any hope of getting value out my purchase, i think this could send ripples through the gaming industry. The more vocal we are the more companies will have to at least meet us half way like D1...give us what we want and we will consider some micro cosmetics. Not a game full of micro cosmetics and no loot or content cos you rebooted the game to milk money, and make Eververse content LOL I pray Monster Hunter is good as that could be a good social game!!!!

Some of the snippets from the dtr cast have been taken out of context, that is 100% true. You are right on that statement. I know this because i listened to the podcast and then read all the comments comming out. Some things dont match up. But, when it comes to the eververse and reboot parts. I cant speak for what context he wanted to present it in, but i can promise you if you listen, he does indeed say they rebooted destiny 2 in 2016 around the time of the taken king. And he absolutely says that they decided on going down the eververse route because making content would be too hard. Now, as i said, if hes saying this was taken out of context thats fine. But, im unsure of what context i should put it in then? He makes two very clear self contained statements
-
Agreed.
-
I'll have to agree too. After listening to the whole thing (and god, Schreir's voice is unbearable), I'll have to agree that the whole thing is probably taken out of context. And I wonder just exactly who is his "source" in all this and how reliable it is. Otherwise, his whole thing comes from a clearly biased source that, in all honestly, sounds more like an immature fanboy child than an actual objective reporter. I'm not doing a 180 and white-knighting Bungie. They are and will continue to be shit until they up and downright apologize for the crap they've pulled and fix their goddam game. But the source of this discussion is of dubious intent and reputation as well.

Lol at all your responses. How many years have you been in the fifth grade?

Edited by alien70: 1/4/2018 5:50:58 PMUsual and sloppy at that damage control by Jason. The reddit post quotes him word to word. The fact that Bungie decided that Eververse is easier than doing content during D1 at the time of Eververse introduction is irrelevant. All their actions since support the "It's easier to make money via Eververse than real content" narrative.
-
Sure as long as it fits you rage believe whatever you want. The truth is somewhere in the middle.
-
I have perfect eyesight and believe my own eyes. The content is quite sparse in this game and Eververse is very rich. Anyone with half a brain should be able to put 2 plus 2 and understand that the profit margin on Eververse items is much higher than on anything else. However this is short sighted strategy to make money on borrowed goodwill from Bungie's previous games. As soon as that goodwill is spent (I personally don't have it anymore) this strategy backfires.
-
Yes I agree it went to far in the eververse direction but why? No company sells a product with complete intent on screwing the consumer. D1 was full of complaints about how the grind was too long, the rng was bs and it wasn't fair the best stuff was behind the the toughest activities. So in rolls a game that gives everyone the chance to get the same stuff. They hand it out like candy and even give you way to buy looking cool. I think they assumed the hardcore community would be ok grinding for bright dust to buy eververse items. They underestimated that we want to look unique and different and be rewarded appropriately for our time and accomplishment. I am not defending the state of the game rather I am trying to paint a picture that we got where we are at based on more than just them wanting to make money and screwing the community over.

Edited by alien70: 1/4/2018 6:21:49 PM/startrant I hear you. My (personal) gripe is that I have never complained about D1. I spent 1700 hours in D1 and never posted on these forums because of one simple reason: fun. I was having fun in game (pvp mostly). My beef with D2 is not Eververse, I could not care less about cosmetics. Never bought anything and never will. My main gripe is that in order to increase number of fools to be parted with their money Bungie mercilessly dumbed down every single aspect of the game. It has lost soul in the process, especially PVP, became generic and boring. Asinine weapon system, simplified to the level of idiocy classes, watered down abilities, 4v4 ruined crucible fun for me. Simply not enough varied content to play with, boring. I removed D2 from my PS4 and have no hope. /endrant

I am with you on this. I didn't play D1 as much as youi but I always felt like I had something to chase. First week of D2 I was already bored with getting exotics so easily. What really irritated me was joining a clan and first week I got a raid armor piece from sloan. I hadn't even done the raid at that point. That is the stuff that needs to be changed if this is going to get back to a good game. I play a little here and there still but am enjoying PUBG while they work this out.

Edited by alien70: 1/4/2018 6:29:24 PMCool, thanks for the talk man. Back to work :-)

I've read the comments. What am I looking for?
-
So you skipped over the part where he said he is being take out of context?
-
Edited by TommyG: 1/4/2018 4:43:26 PMNo I get that part. He was trying to explain why Destiny 2 was in the state it was in, and people have focused on only the Eververse comment instead of the whole discussion. Does that mean that Bungie didn't decide that Eververse was the easier way to make money?
-
It doesn't mean anything conclusively. If you are on the eververse hate wagon it means that for sure obviously. The answer is somewhere in the middle. Do I think the did it to make money? Yes. Do I think that was the only driver? No! Customer satisfaction is on any businesses mind regardless of what you want to believe. I think it was done as way to release more content as that was a huge complaint in D1 and along the way they knew they would make money. It was win win for them at the time. They made money and customers got content.
-
Edited by TommyG: 1/4/2018 4:52:58 PMNot for sure, no. But surely more proof than what you want to believe. There has been absolutely nothing to paint bungie in a good light for months, so why are we still to assume they have our best interests at heart?
