Player Feedback: The Dawning

Hello all, Since the Dawning went live, we've been watching the conversation and recording your feedback. I'd like to give a short list of items that have been noted. This list is not prioritized in any fashion, but a quick representation of trending topics throughout the community:
• Eververse • Mayhem • Vault Space • Endgame - Strikes, Raids, Item Collection • Crucible - Gametypes, Team sizes • Sandbox Balancing - Exotics weapons and armor • Three of Coins • Curse of Osiris: Weapons Forge Questing • Masterworks and Weapon/Armor Modifications
That said, keep it coming. When we return to full force in 2018, details will be shared on the feedback that was collected and how we'll look to address it. Cheers, -dmg04

Nothing personal, we know you are just the messenger. It just sucks that this company is pulling nonsense like this. It's always the same reply to that Cozmo gives. None of this needed to happen but it did and it was done deliberately. Bungie already knows how to put things right and saying....
That said, keep it coming. When we return to full force in 2018, details will be shared on the feedback that was collected and how we'll look to address it.
They already know how to address it. There is no looking into it to see "what went wrong" when it was done deliberately. This wasn't a "mistake" with now this Lie that 1,000+ employees are off for 3 weeks and nothing can be done about this right now??? If Bungie thinks they are excluded from this they better think again, No company is... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkD6VDrkfP8 The truth behind what this company is pulling https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=615s&v=2SsJ9s6KB5c Now Bungie is saying content is too hard to make? They sure didn't have a hard time making Curse of Dawning https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JW10kMwhGa8 The paywall they thought they were going to get away with, with this expansion 30C XP both times they lied The "bug" Deej said the weapon had The micro progression yet to come Edit: This Curse of Dawning that was set up to be a cash grab by putting everything behind a paywall with it being impossible to grind for just a quarter of the dawning was Bungie spitting in the players face. Knowing only one character can collect the loot ones a week and that is only 3 free loot boxes that are not the top loot from Dawning. It can cost around 32,900 bright dust just for one top item with the RNG in this system and they only give 7 bright dust for dismantling things like shaders??? Edit: So, since some gamers are having a hard time understanding what I mean about the 32,900 bright dust. Hear you go, read the spoiler before making a reply about it please.
When gamers buy bright engrams from eververse or grind for the engrams and don't get what they are looking for they end up dismantling it for bright dust. With the RNG in this game using that bright dust it actually can take a lot more then 32,900 looking for one top items for some gamers. It was a number I threw out there that was used in one of the links I posted. I could have said 50,000 and it wouldn't change anything I said because of the RNG in this game knowing it's set in 100% in favor of eververse.
The round about numbers behind this cash grab https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3qnr35_sZw Is that supposed to be a inside joke for Bungie? Gamers only have 3 weeks for an event that if you delete any of it, it's gone forever. But hey! you can re-buy it if you accidentally delete it. See, we listen... Show me where the "Bug" is in this event, where the "mistakes" are that they made in this event or my personal favorite that I'm waiting to hear "it's not working as intended Lie" Hiding info on DT because how the player base is plummeting and calling the player base a liar when they provided the info. Blocking refunds Not addressing the issues at hand that Luke smith "claimed" they would be looking into it that are still an issue before all the above statements that took place. What happened to "we created a system that allows us to create content much easier" knowing how much this expansion is majorly lacking like TDB and that was how many years ago? What, all the events in D1 like festival of cost Redbull Refer a friend Boost packs Rockstar PoP-Tarts etc......... wasn't enough money to fund creating a decent expansion with this "easy" way to create content, that they needed to add this (Curse of Dawning) around Xmas and split on vacation to use that as an excuse to take advantage of new gamers especially kids and teens that don't know any better? Bungie is not going to look into fixing anything knowing nothing is broken or has a "bug" in your list. Everything is working how they planed it. Like I said, nothing personal and we know you are just the messenger, but the lies they give you to say is nothing but an insult...

How about introducing some diverse weapons and armour sets that actually make you feel powerful? Holding down your trigger for 5 minutes while trying to kill yellow bar enemies with an auto rifle is boring as hell. The game is tanking because there is far too much focus on creating cosmetic items for bland weapons and armour. Then trying to nickel and dime for it. Reinstate the diversity in class choices so we can decide on how we want to setup our subclasses for our own playstyle Get rid of the 2 primary system, its bland and boring. Those streamers who petitioned for it should never have done so, and the idiots who formed the groundswell behind them clearly influenced your terrible choice to follow them. Oh, and bring back arcblade, poledancer is rubbish. #makeguardianspowerfulagain

    • Bungie You have shown so much indifference to your player base, even in such an important moment in your franchise’s history, that it’s extremely infuriating. You are leaving your player base in silence , even as they constantly tell you all of the problems they would like to see fixed, with the typical “we are looking into it”, ”keep the feedback coming”response. Do you people not realize how much you’ve tarnished this franchise’s name? You’ve ripped away key parts of Destiny 1, with the promise that you did it to offer players a completely new experience and with the Curse of Osiris DLC your real motivation behind these changes has been revealed. It wasn’t to have a different experience, but rather, it was so you could sell us parts of the original game again, thinking that your player base wouldn’t find out. You were very, very wrong. The amount of laziness shown in Destiny 2 is amazing. A delay and the game being in development for years, and all you could think off was a single new subclass for the warlock and titan, and a slightly different arc subclass for the hunter and a single raid at launch? No new enemy types, no heroic strikes on launch, special weapons being moved to the heavy slot so that they couldn’t compete that well with rocket launchers and swords, only 5 PvP game modes, randomly chosen for you from TWO playlists at launch, oversimplified character skill trees, which wouldn’t be a problem if there were more than two skill trees per subclass, putting primaries with burns in the special slot so that you wouldn’t have to invent new weapon types for that slot, shaders being one time consumables instead of being unlimited, over reliance on Eververse, lack of endgame, lack of reasons to play prestige activities, no random rolls, exotics and legendaries not feeling powerful, 4v4 instead of 6v6 or 3v3, no separate balancing for PvP and PvE, taking exotics from Destiny 1 and making them inferior to their Destiny 1 counterparts and making us PAY for it, none of that “free content” they promised, not putting out more content for your first expansion, like you said the new engine would allow, making us pay for raid lairs instead of a full new raid, and I could go on and on. There is NOTHING to analyze, NOTHING to compile. You people know what this player base demands, because you already GAVE IT TO THEM IN DESTINY 1 and will probably give it back in another 40$ expansion, because you people need to somehow make money out of anything possible. Knowing you people, you are most likely ignoring us so that you can still make some profits from The Dawning, and won’t respond till it finishes. Just know that your fan base isn’t tolerating anymore of your greedy business schemes, and that what ever you do, unless it’s a really honest response and actual free content overhauls and fixes of the game, you are royally screwed. Listen to us, I would be more than happy to be proven wrong, but I highly doubt that will happen. All you needed was to built upon what was established in the original game, instead of cutting it out and trying to resell us everything as DLC. You screwed up, big time.

      • How about making melee abilities actually take away AT LEAST THE SHIELD. Hell, the titans shoulder charge doesn’t put a dent in anyone. It’s a little ridiculous. Yet, somehow the warlock can take the titan down to half health with his melee...

      • Maybe nobody will read this, but I keep hearing from the world that Bungie is watching. This seems like a good idea in today's information age. Lots of hate, lots of love, but nobody ever got better if they believed they had nothing to improve. As a D1 beta player who LOVED the world, the characters, the game, the art (inspiring me to start my own hobby/business making cosplay helmets), the music...the...everything, I put in over 1000 hours (I think over 1500 but deleted one of my characters so lost out on that count) and made some great gaming memories. D2, highly anticipated and initially enjoyed, just "went stale" on me really quickly, and seemed attached to the Wrath of the Machine expansion at the end of D1. This hurt. I had been playing alongside friends and made new ones in the Destiny universe, and now I felt like I could walk away from it without having to think about it. Gun play was great. Levels were new. Game play was new, but not new enough to be a big change or too familiar. Still though, it just went stale REALLY quickly for me. It wasn't the race for the meta load out in PVP (I got my Uriels Gift after all, and Graviton is a beast when used right), but maybe it was a little bit that I was fighting the same enemies as before. Things were different, but not too different. Maybe not different enough. While looking though my Art of Destiny book, I figured it out. I wasn't discovering anything, I was just plowing into it. By discovering, I mean that feeling of actually feeling like I was exploring and discovering something new. This was a universe that humanity had been ejected from. Over run by our enemies for decades and decades. I was the first Guardian to explore and bring The Light back to what it once was. There is a pic in the Art of Destiny book https://www.amazon.com/Art-Destiny-Bungie/dp/1608874206 of a solitary guardian walking through some Vex architecture (picture 6, kind of a group of 3 pics really), all alone, looking about a cave, and that pic more than anything made me want to be a part of the Destiny story. I wanted to be that guy. The scale, the TENSION, the discovery, and all that leads to the story. His gun isn't blazing. He's not hiding, though is appropriately cautious. He's there (He is a "he" in my mind, because I am a "he" and that's how I think my guardians are too), in an alien world, somewhat familiar, trying to find out what happened there and how his story now weaves into that one. Destiny 2 never gave me that feeling. I had it in the boneyards of Terra. I had it in the Dreadnaught (thanks especially to the Touch of Malice quest). I had that in the raids. Scale. Tension. Periods of violence that was necessary. That fell off in the Rise of Iron expansion, and is just not present in Destiny 2. There is no tension in Destiny 2. There is no subtlety. No suspense. Maybe some Jerry Brockheimer nonsense with an orchestral score that the fans of the Transformers movies would consider perfectly done, but pandering to that kind of crowd leads to disappointment an IQ point above, and those are the ones who start complaining and influencing the people who allowed LeBouf to make so much money. It's the lack subtlety above all that's been missing since ROI that leaves me looking in the windows of the Destiny universe. I wasn't looking for horror, I was looking for those moments where things were quiet while I scoped out Martian Malls or the Cosmodrome and cleared what felt like an appropriate enemy presence as I went about finding my place in the world. That D1 Beta day on the moon is one of my favorite gaming memories of all time. It was beautiful. D2 never gave me that. D2 never gave me The Silent Cartographer. Looking into a world, that while lacking the detail of current gen systems can provide, blew me away with its scale, tension, mission focus, action, and subtlety. I've never found that feeling in D2. It's been all Jerry Brockheimer guns blazing, rush rush rush enemies down your throat, explosions, laser beams, high pitched string orchestra moments of urgency ALL THE TIME, and the feeling that I've already done this. Bungie, I love you. I really do. You can't understand what you did for me and my friends, even if you watch this (admittedly corny video done by our local PBS station after a neighbor learned I make helmets), it can't relay how much Halo 1 and 2 meant to bring friends together and make friends of strangers or that they literally helped save the lives of these guys. http://wviz.ideastream.org/news/futuristic-helmets-from-the-halo-universe That's what gaming should do in my mind. Somebody in that Halo 2 special edition DVD said they envisioned video games replacing Poker Night (or some such), but the current state of D2 seems to be that more people are leaving, or clinging on in the face of an impressive amount of distaste for the D2 entry. I don't know when I'll be back, and that saddens me. I don't know when I'll see another Silent Cartographer that leaves me breathless as I finish. I hope its not another Wrath raid which I never complete because it feels stupid. I hope its not a Leviathan raid, with dogs eating plants or whatever idiotic game mechanism causes a group of 6 friends who've been gaming for years to groan and roll their eyes at the utter silliness of the moment after scheduling to meet up and attack it. I've yet to finish that raid, because after the dogs, and playing later with the bad guy with glowing symbols on his head, why would I? I'm not finding anything new. I'm Jerry B's gopher, racing to the next point only to do it again in the hopes of earning a starfish mask and looking like Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy's new apprentice. Take your time. Do it right. Tension and Subtlety in story telling. Worlds worth looking at and exploring instead of racing through. Halo 1-3. Reach and ODST, while maybe not as beloved as the others (probably due to no real addition to the PVP arena), were also beautifully done games that delivered. You saw it disappear in Halo 4 after you handed it off. I have no idea what happened in Halo 5 at all, (AT ALL!) a total disaster of a gaming universe. Bring us your Dreadnaught. Bring us the Silent Cartographer. Bring us back to the lost and mystical universe you built in D1. Standing by, Troy Gordon XBONE

              • I just wish there was more story to these events insted of, gather the mats and turn in a box. Go kill each other and then go do strikes. Just seemed lazy when you look at it, and also the ammount of bright dust needed for all 3 sets of armor is crazy. Insted of putting the armor behind a paywall try doing what some other games do for holiday events and put them behind quests. You don't need to forge them or anything but something like going to each planet and look for a guardian that fell in battle when the Red Legion came and blocked the light from the guardians and return with theyre ghost so they will be remembered in the city and not forgotten. The ghosts and ships could have been dropped in strikes, raids, crucible, ect. Heck they could have been specific drops from each planets Public Events. Just a low chance to drop, people would have grinded that out like crazy. Putting these behind the Eververse is silly and not needed shaders and emotes I can understand but the armor, ghosts, sparrows, and ships were a missed opportunity to please your fans who love this game. I really hope to see more story and quests in the future with these events, festival of the lost would be amazing if they added in lore and questing to it and not just wear masks in pvp. I can't wait to see what happens in the future. Thanks

                  • Still waiting for the first set of changes from 10/26/2017: CB: Hey, everyone. We've been playing the game in the wild for seven weeks, and like the Destiny experiences that have come before, we're always thinking about where the game is heading next. We're still planning when a bunch of the improvements listed below are going to make their way into the game, but we wanted to let you know what we're up to. Here’s a short list of updates we’re working on:   New systems and rewards to give our most engaged players additional, optional pursuits. Better incentives for players who complete challenging Prestige activities. Better rewards and replay value for strikes, adventures, and Lost Sectors. Private matches for the competitive community (we are targeting early 2018). Crucible tuning like adjusted Supremacy scoring and better spawning rules. Better incentives for completing Crucible matches (and penalties for quitting competitive games). Continued improvements to Iron Banner and Faction Rallies, including uniqueness of rewards. Changes to make the mod economy more interesting and impactful. Ongoing improvements to Exotics, including adjustments to reduce instances of duplication. New ways to spend surplus currency and materials (looking at you Legendary Shards). An emote interface that allows players to equip Salty, Spicy Ramen, Six Shooter, and Flip Out all at the same time.   There's more we're working on. We'll talk again soon.  -Barrett @cgbarrett

                    • You guys have got a massive task on your hands now if you want to rescue this game and your company for that matter. You need to change your attitude towards the players and the game for a start, the "we are listening" statement is just an insult to the people who still care about your game now, you need to have a road map, focus points and reasons(not lies) why, and you need to be honest. I don't know and I don't understand why you left so much of what you had, out of this game, millions of dollars spent, three years of work, data, and feed back, yes there were problems, but it was a proven foundation that you could build on and you just cast it aside, for what? to make way for what seems like another work in progress experiment. As you have probably realised by now, the game is not liked, even hated by a vast majority of your player base and you only have yourselves (management) to blame, you need to start asking some serious questions internally. As for the game, go back and look at what we had in D1, give us our game back, yes it was broken in ways but I would sooner have partly broken and fixable than smashed to pieces. As for eververse, put her back in the box she was in in D1 or get her out, you have opened the rng Pandoras box with this, and unless you act quick it will see you off.

This i.p. started as a power fantasy looter shooter, you changed the formula and lost the original appeal. The conservative sandbox is rapidly boring the vanishing player-base. It is time to repeal sanity and balance extreme with extreme let us battle as gods!

Honestly.... Might as well say the whole game is still a giant disaster. Is Eververse the cause? Not really. It all comes down to balancing. In Curse of Osiris half the collectables were behind Eververse.... There was barely anything new to gain through completing activities. Bungie needs to balance Eververse properly. The current formula is weapon and armor through gameplay activities, cosmetics through Eververse. Bungie said cosmetics only and they stayed true to their word. So they put all cosmetics in Eververse. Trololol. DLCs will have x amount content/collectables. There is only so much that Bungie can apparently make, despite having 2+ studios helping out (honestly not seeing results of the extra workforce..... at all)..... Anyways, whenever content is released make it so that whatever amount of content was created for that moment, only 10-20% is behind Eververse. The 50/50 ratio we saw with Osiris is not acceptable. Curse of Osiris was a paid DLC.... it was $20. How is it fair, that half of an already paid DLC is behind yet another paywall? Now naturally, if Eververse has less items to obtain, it increases chances of getting what you want, and decreases the amount of Bright Engrams you'd need to get them all. So to compensate, simply increase the XP needed for the Bright Engram. If Eververse content was to drop significantly in content like a 1/3 or 1/4 of what it has now, then even limit how many are earned per account/character per week. All in All...... Destiny 2 needs a shit ton of work. I would recommend ditching Destiny 2, and going back to Destiny 1, honestly. I'll throw $100 for a "remastered" Destiny..... pick up with Year 4, opening scene of the Ghost waking up from a nightmare about how the Red Legion attacked and almost destroyed the city.......... wow I'd totally pay money just for that cutscene..... Anyways..... Destiny 3 better just be Destiny Remastered.

                            • I'm almost mad at myself for even buying Curse of Osiris. Destiny 1 gave me so much from the day it launched. Friends, hours and hours of fun that never got old and story (I read the cards) that I couldn't get enough of. Now, we're down to this.. I'm bored of the game as much as I absolutely hate to admit it. And I think part of that is subconsciously knowing that they inflate the cost of DLC far beyond what we should pay, yet having so many issues. The biggest killer for me though... is this. The lack of care, the lack of respect for the players that kept them going for so long and the lack of initiative to smooth out their game and for ONCE keep to their promises. But hey, Bungie. Do you. I'll be here playing my library of other games, it doesn't bother me one bit. I'm just disappointed. I (wrongly) expected better from you guys.
