Thank you for the feedback. This is being collected and forwarded to the appropriate teams as necessary. Once we return in 2018, we'll speak to the feedback collected over the holiday season and give some details on future plans. Stay tuned, and keep the feedback coming!
You'll be lucky to get 10 years out of this shit for real
Bah! 🤣😂 You think that shit is even a remote possibility at this point?! Forget about winning. Bungie is on the mat, fighting a choke, trying to survive till the bell rings. Ten years 😥 That's a good one.

  • So, Bungie is now deleting posts about tokens? Both my posts have seemingly vanished overnight.

  • Hey look! It's another one of the community management's BS answers of "we're listening, promise," while offering no solutions, no response, no timetable, no information. This response is tired, and you all suck for continuing down this path. You should be ashamed of yourselves at this point.

Thank you for a reply "even though it is lack luster and not what the community needed" and for replying when the community is acting like toddlers that dropped their bottle. We should all wait till the team returns and hope that they will tell us the truth to stop the comunitty throwing a tantrum. Thank you

  • Tantrum? I wouldn't say the community as a whole is "throwing a tantrum" but whatever you need to say to take away the legitimacy of people's frustrations.

  • Hello dmg04, I appreciate your willingness to communicate with us on this issue, and the difficulties of your position. However, if I'm being perfectly candid, I do not think I interpreted this response as you intended your audience to. I understand that as a community manager, your job is to communicate what Bungie wishes to say, and that without the Dev teams right next to you and a concrete plan going forward, you don't want to make promises that will only get broken later. That said, this response is only more of what the fanbase has been told for at least the last three months, if not longer. The community is tired of the "We Hear You, and Value Your Feedback" vague, cookie-cutter response. We've heard it before, only to be lied to or misdirected not a week later. The community is at a breaking point, and coming from the Destiny Subreddit, people are completely fed up with the way Bungie responds to their community. I'm sorry that this job falls to you, and I'm sorry that I don't know how to fix this, but Bungie's responses from here on out need to be significantly more genuine, and communicate exactly how much Bungie is willing to do to fix this. Please understand, this is not a demand. I would like for these changes to occur, but more importantly I feel that an honest, sincere discussion is the only thing that will be accepted by the community. I poured 458 hours into Destiny 1. I started back in House of Wolves, and played regularly up until about a week or so before D2 launched. I loved that game, and this franchise, for the worlds it took me to, for the crisp gunplay I've come to expect from Bungie titles, and for the lore I couldn't get enough of. The mythos of undying heroes fighting for a little bit more light in the world was inspiring, and it's still probably my favorite setting. There were certainly rough patches where I thought that D1 had been abandoned, and the whole of the studio had left the game behind to become obsolete, but I had faith that those that did remain were doing everything possible to realize the vision I fell in love with back at Gamescom 2013. And then when Rise of Iron and the Age of Triumph came, that faith was rewarded! Sure, special ammo changes felt thoroughly screwed, but PVP balancing had been a consistent problem, and I could sympathize with the difficulty of balancing such a complex system. By Y3 of Destiny 1, I felt like a legend. I couldn't wait to see what D2 had in store, and I was ready to meet the next chapter of this 10-year journey head on. Destiny 2 destroyed the faith I had in Bungie. In 3 months, I have felt belittled, lied to, neglected, and worst of all, betrayed. As a hardcore fan, I feel left on the wayside, ignored for the dollar signs that the vocal, uninformed and ultimately manipulated minority provide through the Eververse store. Instead of spending days grinding for loot and prestigious rewards, I now watch as a significant majority of the game's collectables are locked behind microtransactions and real-world currency. Instead of grinding challenges and scouring planets for dead ghosts to collect more of the incredible lore, I would log in just long enough to complete a challenge or two. Just long enough to be reminded, through some ingame mechanic or design choice, that there is no incentive in my Destiny 2 experience. So I don't log in anymore. Curse of Osiris came off as half-baked content that not only didn't treat the titular character with the gravitas that the D1 Grimoire gave him, but is also filled with the same soul-crushing design choices and mechanics that stopped me from enjoying vanilla D2. I hoped the Dawning would be an acknowledgement of the fanbase concerns, and would fully embrace the season of giving with generous amends made and a more transparent, communication-friendly Bungie. Instead, Shaders and other Dawning rewards that players can acquire for free are distinctly separated from those that come from microtransactions, preventing the players from grinding for an ultimately trivial amount of Bright Dust. If that doesn't sum up how I feel as a Bungie customer, I don't know what will. Bungie seems more interested in bleeding every penny from their fans than they are about living up to the Vision they set out to create 4+ years ago. This post is long, and filled with a lot of pointed criticism, so I'd like to also relay what I like about Destiny 2. The Audio and Visuals are as stunning and breathtaking as ever. I'm not sure if you are in a position to tell the Art and Sound teams how much of a kick-ass job they did, but if you are, please tell them that I would absolutely buy them all dinner. Every location seems painstakingly sculpted with purpose and painted with care. Every sound, from the incredible soundtrack to the otherworldly sounds of our space magic, is evocative and incredible. Also the team that worked on the 'Eater of Worlds' Raid lair should get a raise and a bear-hug. The care and effort that was put into this game shines through. The world that I fell in love with is still there, even if it is muddled by poor design choices, and was gutted by decisions that make the game experience shallow. I'm tired of the hate and frustration I feel when I play Destiny 2. I'm tired of comparing what I have with what could have been. I'm tired of seeing Bungie take it's fanbase for granted as it leaves behind all of the hard-won lessons it learned from Destiny 1. I still love Destiny, but I need to step away for a while. I can't support this studio while controversy after controversy has made it abundantly clear how much Bungie values the people that supported them in their most uncertain times. I know I'm just one guy on the internet, but I can't hope for change and then still play/support the broken game I have now. I hope I've effectively communicated my opinions of Destiny 2 without disrespect or confusion. Community members like Datto, Gothalian, and SkillUp have already addressed the specific criticisms I share, so I focused on how I feel as a former Bungie fan. This game still has a long way to go, and there is still time to right the ship. Throughout Destiny 1's lifetime, Bungie spent the good will and faith of its fanbase to buy time and improve their game. But now, Bungie's Bankrupt, and extremely drastic measures need to be taken to stop the franchise we all love from being lost to the darkness. Thank you for your time.

  • If you actually cared about this, you wouldn't have monetized every bit of Destiny 2 that you thought you could get away with. But thanks for telling everyone once again that "we're listening". Here's a secret though - your biggest fans have no faith in your ability to hear anything other than cash register sounds. We're just pockets for you to pick. That's how you make us feel.

  • Microtransactions need to go. I bought a few things in Destiny 1 basically as a bonus to bungie for creating a game that I got so many hours of enjoyment out of. I REGRET every single penny of it and will never buy another one ever again. This has gone from a minor little kiosk that was completely avoidable, to the game outright designed around continually sending you back there to try and sucker you in. This has passed the point where it is just cosmetic items for cash, IT IS affecting how the game is played and designed. If you buy micro transactions thinking it isn't hurting anything, it's "my money, what's the big deal?" You are so very wrong and contributing to progressively making this worse. This is shady business practice that is slowly destroying video games and it needs to be banned. You could try and get customers money be making a good product instead.

We are all responsible for this... Preorders -> Special Collector's Editions -> Season Passes -> In Game Purchases -> In Game Gambling We fed and cared for the monster for years. Now, we grab the pitch forks and light the torches?! It's a little late.

True... I wish it was before gaming turned into virtual casinos though. Also, season passes on single player games?! That's when I knew we jumped the shark.
