Being a certain class shouldn't lock you into any sort of set, and arguably even subclass. Perhaps it could be based on perk tree, and armor perks. Of course, you'd have to balance encounters accordingly, and that isn't something the game in its current state can handle, and I don't know how you would change raids and other activities to fulfill that, without radically changing the game the way is played. However, I do like the idea, because it opens up many diverse playstyles other than "floaty shooty guy"

Yes it's hard to imagine Destiny in a traditional Tank/Support/Healer way as it would be a total different game. Of course there should be a way to change loadout or skills to make a class playable solo. A healer wouldn't be playable solo if you couldn't Change it to a hybrid Support and dps. I wanted to see if people would like a more strategic Approach. There are a lot of Things which wouldn't work anymore. Matchmaking would be hell. In other MMOs at least you can Queue for an activity while playing freeroam. But waiting in Orbit for matchmake to find a tink for 30min wouldn't be that fun. Warlock, Titan and Hunter vs the traditional Priest, Warrior and Hunter are so different. I mean, Priest, Warrior and Hunter feels like 3 different trees. But Destinys approuch of Warlock, Titan and Hunter feels like different branches of the same tree.
