Player Feedback: Masterworks and Modifications

Since the release of [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/Update/46536]Destiny 2 Update 1.1.1.1[/url], we’ve been monitoring player feedback concerning the Masterworks. We’d like to give you a list of items that’s on our list to address. We don’t have a specific date for when these changes would take place, but we’d like to give insight as to what teams at Bungie are aiming to accomplish: [b]Player acquisition:[/b][quote]• We’re implementing a new mechanism that we can use to limit long dry spells in Masterwork drops due to bad RNG. • We will also be looking at adding some guaranteed sources of Masterworks, but we are working on a broader plan to improve prestige activity rewards and it might wait until then. • We’re watching overall drop rates and usage over the holiday and will adjust drop rates and material costs as needed.[/quote] [b]Masterwork Inventory Management[/b] [quote]• We’re planning a fix for Masterwork Cores not going to your postmaster if you’re full on Consumables. • To help prevent accidental loss of Masterwork Cores, we're extending the dismantle timer to give players a larger window to stop the process.[/quote] [b]Stat Bonuses[/b] [quote]• Right now, the stat bonuses are small tweaks intended for players who want to optimize very deeply. We’re watching feedback and are excited to adjust or add more stat bonuses in the future. Once we have more information, we’ll share our plans with you.[/quote] Additionally, the in-game UI currently doesn’t have a good way to show all of the possible stat rolls.   • Thank you for the additional info! I was thinking about re-rolling my MW Perfect Paradox for range. This post saved me some cores for sure. I appreciate the progress towards more transparency and faster communication. Here's some feedback... Two things I like about Master Works that surprised me: (1)The golden embellishment when a MW drops is a great little detail. I've transferred some MW weapons back and forth just to enjoy the animation (2) Trying to produce as many additional orbs as possible during a strike, and then seeing that number in the post-strike stat feed provides a fun little side-challenge to spice things up. One thing I don't care for after 1 week of experiencing the system: Core RNG after dismantling a MW seems to detract from the experience. I get excited every time I get a MW. That excitement is quickly quenched when I only get 1 core if I choose to dismantle. If I get 3, my excitement simply persists. It is not increased. I personally would appreciate a flat 2 cores instead of a chance at 1 to 3. Thanks for taking the time to listen!

    • Masterwork armor is the perfect oprotunity to incorperate armor set bonuses. One of the masterwork perks on the pieces could be locked until you equip the other parts of the set. Or maybe the more masterwork set pieces you equip the more bonuses are unlocked.

        Wow, not 30 min after my tinfoil theory about masterwork post (literally, my last post) about masterwork throttling. Can I have my 700 shards back.? Edit: I cant be but so mad. Armor master works.... Damn you bungie. Givith and taketh. Whats 700 shards amongst friends.

          Customisation is key to this game. Having that flexibility to make your gear suit your play style and still be competitive. I actually though these forums had been abandoned... sorry for the shit talking Deej. You’re human and occasionally say dumb stuff too. I respect that.         • Maybe you could consider adding more mod slots for weapons. One mod slot for perks that change a weapon's rate of fire or weapon frame, one to customize or change weapon sights and barrel upgrades, and one to add perks like Grenadier, Third Eye, Full Auto, Icarus, Range Finder, and Army of One. Additionally, allow the Weapon Attack Mod (Kinetic) to turn Legendary Energy Weapons into Kinetic Weapons, and and the Arc/Solar/Void Damage Mods to turn Kinetic Weapons into Energy Weapons.

        • It's a good start. But being able to have the armor I like the look of be my recovery set would be awesome. Baby steps but I like it.

The solution to armor not being good because of its stat allocation is [i]not[/i] to make it where people can change stats. [i]Its to make all the stats worth using.[/i] Why should every class build 4 Resilience, and the rest into Recovery, with as little in Mobility as possible? In a team based game like Destiny 2, the individuals stats should be somewhat less important as they would have been in Destiny 1. What I mean, is that there is more room to make meaningful changes from armor stats; Less homogenization, more class build specialization. There is an opportunity to actually improve the game here, instead of just reverting back to D1 stat allocations or RNG armor.

          • Weapons and armor should NOT come unlocked! Masterworks could be great. Imagine getting a base masterwork and having to work to unlock the perks IN THE WAY YOU THE PLAYER wants. Half the feeling of power is gone from D1 to now because of the fixed rolls and not being able to run the gear YOU want with perks YOU want. I know it will never happen because some squeaker from PvP will cry but, a Skyrim like customization spread would make this game kill all other games. It was nice in D1 to almost never see anyone running the same gear as you. We are all individuals after all...

          • Would definitely like to see certain stats boosted a bit more. A 10+ magazine MW only provides 1 additional shot to my better devils. Why doesnt this jump to 4 rounds more? We're grinding for these things and the return isn't as rewarding as we'd like to expect. Same thing applies for the reload speed. I have increased reload on my kinetic, kinetic arm loaders and ophidian. I should be well on par with Outlaw like reloading. I personally believe thats what MW should be, put you on a path to basically achieving stat perks. i.e, outlaw, ext mag, etc. Overall, I did feel I was grinding more, but now that I have MW on all my primary weapons and with the stat bonuses, I'm at that sad point of having nothing to grind for. If we can make this go further in depth or hopefully with the armor MW, I hope its something to chase like builds in The Division possibly. Also, thank you for posting what each weapon can drop with. If you guys can start applying these to patch notes instead of later forum posts, I think the community would appreciate it a bit more.

          • More direct routes to acquire masterworks sounds cool. Also, I like that you can make your own masterworks weapons with enough cores. You guys wanted a grind!

          • Getting a 10 Reload Masterwork on a handcannon is actually very helpful. I got it to roll on my Steady Hand and love the boost. Sure I have Outlaw but it helps to have the extra boost when you don't get the precision kill or when doing damage to larger foes.
