Player Feedback: Masterworks and Modifications

Since the release of [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/Update/46536]Destiny 2 Update 1.1.1.1[/url], we’ve been monitoring player feedback concerning the Masterworks. We’d like to give you a list of items that’s on our list to address. We don’t have a specific date for when these changes would take place, but we’d like to give insight as to what teams at Bungie are aiming to accomplish: [b]Player acquisition:[/b][quote]• We’re implementing a new mechanism that we can use to limit long dry spells in Masterwork drops due to bad RNG. • We will also be looking at adding some guaranteed sources of Masterworks, but we are working on a broader plan to improve prestige activity rewards and it might wait until then. • We’re watching overall drop rates and usage over the holiday and will adjust drop rates and material costs as needed.[/quote] [b]Masterwork Inventory Management[/b] [quote]• We’re planning a fix for Masterwork Cores not going to your postmaster if you’re full on Consumables. • To help prevent accidental loss of Masterwork Cores, we're extending the dismantle timer to give players a larger window to stop the process.[/quote] [b]Stat Bonuses[/b] [quote]• Right now, the stat bonuses are small tweaks intended for players who want to optimize very deeply.     Masterwork are a joke. Its just smoke and mirror its so minor its laughable. You guys just dont want to give us what we want. Making it look like your giving it to us when you arent thats some shady stuff right here. You guys really think we are stupid enough to not see your giving us next to nothing just a huge grind for very little gain in power. Full masterwork weapons+gear isnt even that noticable vs 0 masterwork. People dont realise super where buffed at the same time masterwork got in so they think they get supers way more because of masterwork but its because of the go fast update not the masterwork. This proves my point even more about smoke and mirriors you guys planned to put those 2 together so we dont see right away that masterworks are a useless grind for next to no upgrade in power. You guys are proven liar at this point and bungie will just end up dead after the Activision deal. Most will never buy anything else from you ever again. We cant thrust anything you guys say. Ill say it but you guys are the worst developer ever in terms of lying you just lie and lie again and again. That stubornness to go your way even if most dont want it is actualy insane. Definition of insane is doing the same thing over and over again thinking the results will change so Bungie has a whole is the definition of insane. But posting here does what ill make some players mad get some witheknight going after me(i wont respond so dont waste your time) and devs will never see this and if they do will shrug it off has we know better then this random we make games he dosent. Maybe we should start going at Activision directly to tell them how much you guys are killing this game because we know all those smoke and mirrior are more for them then for us. Now you can say to Activision we gave them more power/customisation like they asked for we will save this game so you guys dont need to worry when its a complete lie. Masterwork upgrade are the worst thing ive ever seen in gaming in terms of smoke and mirrors its like a slap to the face when you realise your grinding for nothing. At this point ill just watch this game burn and laugh about it. I just came back after go fast update and was having a blast. But when i started getting masterwork i was like ok lets give this a chance but it looks like it gives me nothing worth in power. Fast forward to today where i know masterworks are just a scam to trick stupid people and you can be sure im not buying Warmind or anything Bungie ever again. Anyway with no LFG i wont be able to do the no LFG group content and will probably be locked out of almost all the exotic masterwork because of it. Is it that hard to make a LFG for nightfall and Raids no the system is there but you guys think we are to stupid to do this with randoms. Let me get this straight the stupid ones here is you Bungie not us wake up before its to late even if its probably way to late already. Its sad because its probably just some guys leading things thats the cause of Destiny 2 problems AKA Luke Smith, Gavin Irby, Jacob Benton and Lars Bakken.

  • You say the in-game ui doesn’t have a good way to show possible stat rolls. This is why I wasted 150 cores trying to get stability on an auto rifle. Why don’t you put important info like this in the weekly update? It sucks that we need to search forums to find this kind of stuff. It took me a long time to earn those cores and they were just wasted.

      Sadly dmg04 it does not matter as anything thought of will be nerfed into nothing anyway take these original masterworks the first picture showed 20 reload. What we got was a thing that says 10 reload with an actual +5 reload speed boost that is 25% of what was originally planned. You see it does not matter what good ideas you any dev or anyone else has the game is designed to push out the majority of the player base after taking their money and to only keep the impatient semi dumb players who will spend tons of money on the eververse. You can try as much as you like it will not make a difference nothing will change until they are ready to launch the next season pass then they will pretend to fix things pretend like they are listening fix it for about 2 maybe 3 weeks then after they got everyones money again break it. Case and point public events they were literally the reason i bought this sham of a game because they were rewarding and fun now they are nerfed for no reason at all. This is the Bungie policy. This is what the team learned from destiny 1. How long before they start selling us back the destiny 1 content nerfed and remade for this crapshoot called destiny 2. I'd assume start of the next season pass. Bungie already learned from d1 they can resell crap so we know it's coming and we are not amused.

    • ive been thinking of a really cool way to improve the weapon system without doing a major overhaul and i came to this very exciting idea. other than masterworks, legendary (and potentially exotics) should have tiers: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. each tier will award the weapon or armor a set mod capacity bronze being 1 ,silver being 2 ,gold being 3 ,and platinum being 4. Mods will have different capacities depending on the rarity, for example blue mods takes up 1 capacity, legendary 2 and exotic mods will take up 4. so players can mix and match mods for the optimal benefit of the situation. example platinum weapons can equip the following mod combinations: 4 blues or 1 exotic or 2 legendaries or 1 legendary and 2 blues etc. about the mods, each rarity will offer additional improvement ( i will talk about this later in the comment ) weapon mods can make underpowered weapons or perks more useful. for example snipers and linear fusion rifles can have a mod that will increase precision damage. blue mods grants +5% precision damage, legendary mod grants +10% precision damage and exotic + 15% precision damage. however it is not possible to equip the same mod multiple times. lets say you cannot equip 4 blue precision damage mods or a legendary version of that mod with 2 blue versions. i said that mods can help underpowered perks for example a bayonet mod on weapons that will increase melee lunge range while that weapon is used. Graverobber perk will complement this mod well making graverobber a more wanted mod by the playerbase for example a sidearm melee combo in pvp . another mod that i just thought of is reloading weapons releases a shockwave which staggers enemies. blue mod grants a 1 meter radius shockwave , legendary is 2 meter radius and exotic 3 meter radius. this idea helps people hunting something either an exotic mod or a platinum weapon. the idea about my 15th better devils being better than my current one is possible now with legendary tier. the current weapon system ( fixed rolls and the kinetic energy, and ,power) can stay to help compensate people with bad RNG you can ascend the tier of a legendary through the gunsmith using legendary shards but it is costly ( lets say 500 shards) and turning in 3 of the same mod can turn a blue mod into a legendary and 3 legendaries into an exotic. i love destiny 2 and i would like to see it expand and i will continue to play it until the next destiny game.         THIS IS OFF TOPIC BUT WE DONT WE HAVE WEEKLY STORIES OR DAILY STORIES???? If you want us to be happy bring back bounties, dailies and actual weekly quest!!!!! This would add “incentive” for players to play you know something that is lacking foremost in the game. Hell we as a community seem to have the brightest of ideas, but they get shot down or completely looked over. Why is it, dawning engrams aren’t replacing bright engrams while the event last? That would shut most of us up.. since you guys added “160k xp” to level up now I don’t see why we can’t earn engrams this way.

        • I'd like to see Banshee involved in the process somehow. Maybe you can further increase the level of a masterworks weapon with him after obtaining one. He could be like " [i]seen one of these before gaurdian, highly customizable because of the quality and extra frame slots[/i]...or something like that anyway. You do basic quest bounties like X amount of precision kills or whatever. And once completed you'd return to Banshee and he'd be able to use the data you collected to offer you a CHOICE of extra upgrades or something like an extra perk or stat mod.

            Maybe you could also add numerical values to the base stats. +10 reload? +10 of what? 20? 100? 1000? Is it 10%, or a straight value increase of 10? What? You might as well say, +camera reload +unicorn range +puffy shoes stability +ectoplasm handling

              Why aren't exotics automatically masterworks? Or at least give them a perk for orbs on multikills also like the masterworks... To be honest, why aren't exotics feeling very exotic? Too easy to get and nothing to make them feel any more powerful or useful than anything else in the game. Please do something with exotics to give them that feel of power and uniqueness. Incorporate exotics into strikes so that there are reasons to use all the exotics, as well as reason to do the strike. Also, we need new exotics and new weapons. NOT RESKINS! There are so many ideas around for really good weapons, including exotics. The only reskin I wanna see is the hung jury, but I'm fine without it, as long as we get new weapons! The possibilities are endless for this game, and it's sad to see the lack of leadership and effort that was put into it. Especially after 3 years of recorded data towards making the game what WE all wanted. Why did the skill tree get basically nerfed? It was better before when you could change your abilities/play style as necessary for encounter/enemy. That seems pretty fair and balanced. Now it's very dull and lackluster. We need to see vast improvements in the D2 game. If we don't, I fear this game will die out faster than Bungie can come out with content. That said, I have every exotic in game, both armor and weapons for all characters. I have completed everything except weekly milestones each week, but even all those for all characters get done within a day or 2 and aren't challenging or fun. So my question is, what else is there? A faction rally or Iron Banner week, woo... That's if it's not cancelled for some ludacris reason. Hell trials was shut down due to an emote. Now we have Nova glitch. We have missed faction rallies and I believe IB and all we get is a unfufilling response with nothing being done to ensure bugs or glitches are fixed/removed and we have the content as well. That's not a good business model to compare what to come will look like. From lack of content, to the content not being fun or rewarding, to the cashgrab, this game is trending down and needs a big overhaul sooner than Bungie plans. We can't wait over 2 or 3 months for a DLC that dissapoints. We just can't have that Bungie. We need the biggest overhaul and DLC ever or it's done for this game. On that note, it really needs to be epic. We need to remember it, and get the feeling of accomplishment, and be rewarded properly. Make this game unique again. New art, new gear, new weapons, new enemies, new PvP modes, new worlds, new PvE arenas, new raid lair, new raid/raid content, new missions, new exotic quests(D1 style), new subclass, subclass customization, shader system, shader dismantle, masterworks improvements, new forge weapons, sparrow racing, fly your ship, and so much more could be done to improve this game.

                • It must be possible for Exotics to be upgraded. They are pitifull as they are right now and not having a masterwork slot devaluates them even further. Exos should be top of the line, not mediocre yellow legendaries.

                • Could you elaborate on what "+10 Magazine" means for each weapon type? I was under the mistaken impression that "+10 Magazine" correlated to a +10% magazine size modifier; this is clearly not the case, with a Mida Mini-Tool (37-round magazine) becoming a whopping 38-round magazine after dumping 10 cores into it. Even if we were to round down, my rudimentary math skills say 110% of 37 should be 40. Are masterworks broken too?

                • I actually think masterwork weapons have become more useful than most exotics due to the orb generation (especially in activities like the Nightfall and Raid). Having a rocket launcher with the ability to generate an orb of light on each multikill is more useful than the Wardcliff Coil whose rockets will randomly track different targets and give me no bonus on a multi kill. Same goes for just about every exotic and with how weak the Destiny 2 exotics are compared to the ones from Destiny 1, there is no real reason to use one of them unless you do not have a masterworked version of a legendary weapon that fills a similar role.

                  • Legitimate Masterworks “feedback”: The effect of masterworks is so inexplicably minute that it’s not in the least bit worth it...especially when considering that it can frequently take 8 to 10 hours of gameplay for a single Masterworks weapon to drop. You might as well move on to poorly implementing the next poorly thought out idea.

                  • Every weapon that u rework gets a negative buff on the perk be for the rework. For example look at the pics in the link one stock positive outlook and a masterwork positive outlook that's been reworked 3 times the range is now 84 base instead of 87 and the handling speed is now 48 instead of 50 the only thing that didn't get a rebuff is mag size it went back to 33 please fix this soon or there no point to have rework thank you
