Three of Coins Functionality
Hey all,
Throughout the weekend, we’ve been monitoring player feedback concerning the recently added Three of Coins consumable offered by Xûr. We’d like to give clarification on the functionality of this item:
[quote][b]When players use a Three of Coins consumable, this provides a 50% increase to the base chance of being rewarded an Exotic Engram upon activity completion. Using this consumable does not guarantee an Exotic reward upon completing a set number of activities – but rather increased chances upon each activity completion.[/b][/quote]
[b]Note:[/b] We have found that Heroic Strikes do not currently grant higher chances for Exotics when using Three of Coins consumables, compared to Vanguard Strikes. We’re looking to address this with a future Hotfix, expected in early 2018.
We will continue to monitor and forward feedback concerning this feature throughout the holiday season. Keep it coming!
Later this week, we’ll have notes from the development team on additional feedback items that we’re looking to address in the future. Stay tuned.

5 RepliesI don't get why all the numbers is hidden, people a confused about what the wording of the item means and therefor makes their own assumptions, why just don't wirte "tree of coin - Increase the chance to get exotic drop upon activity completion (50% increase)"

There's no defending you guys anymore. You make a gear based loot grind game with not enough loot, so you nerf our drops to artificially extend the grind then add a currency to burn our legendary shards just to supposedly get the drop rate back to what it used to be, and you can't even make it work. I used to get more exotics in an hour of heroic event farming than I do in 4+ hours now. Wow what an improvement. It made the game so much better.

Don't really care, grinded for Autumn wind and got it and I'm grinding for Vance. Too much to do and getting an exotic is a surprise..... Don't need to rush for exotics. Still a few I don't have, they will eventually come. This extends playability. Loving it!

Two questions that need answered from this then: what was the exotic drop rate per activity before Curse of Osiris, and what is it now? Not that I expect an answer to either, of course.

Early 2018? If players benefited, and got too many rewards, it would have been patched by a skeleton crew over the holidays. Bungie's focus appears misguided, usually biased against the players. I find this interesting.

5 RepliesSo, except for Heroic Strikes 3oc are "working as intended". Sorry but: a) do Bungie even play test the changes? This is yet another example of extremely poor quality control, b) if 3oc are "working as intended" then the 3oc has not only been a massive fail, with numerous players receiving 1 or nil exotics, but has highlighted the very low exotic drop rate, c) Bungie has repreatedly received a backlash for promoting an item only for players to find out that the end result is way below expectations. Will Bungie ever learn? Just a thought, but maybe Bungie should, just for once, try to under promise and over deliver. It is sad watching a company continue to frustrate its customers. Have fun and may RNG be forever in your favor.

So its working as intended but Heroic Strikes are not. In theory I should see a better chance at drops participating in other events besides heroic strikes, but from what myself and my clan have seen that is not the case. Granted the majority of the grind did take place in Heroic Strikes but even in there the error is not exotics do not drop, its that they did not receive an increase from normal strikes. I used to get quite a few from normal strikes but haven't gotten one in a heroic since they released. You can say that's bad RNG but even in destiny 1 you were bound to get an exotic after 6 or 7 3oC's used. Something else just seems off about the current state of 3oC. A possible fix for this, just take them out of the game. We did just fine up until this point earning exotics, the earning exotics part isn't the issue for most, it's the duplicates. Remove 3oC and keep Fated Engrams just to help those players not have to suffer exotic after exotic to keep missing a single piece. I'm not gunna backlash at the game without giving some sort of solution, the majority here however will. Hopefully this can get upvoted so they can see constructive feedback

How have you not all been fired yet and had a team of drug addled research monkeys replace you? Atleast they work for cheaper. How about instead of making vague promises about an eventual fix, you just deposit a fated engram into the mail box of everyone who bought a three of coins as an apology for being incompetent and we can just get on with the business of ignoring three of coins as the junk that they are? Seriously. The fact that you screw up time and time again and never make an apology or even try to make up for it is just damned pathetic. No other company on earth would even try to get away with this behavior. Edit: By the way, this is the reason why that specific market you were so desperately trying to appeal to. You know the one I mean. This is why they're totally ignoring you and the game you hoped would be a competitor for Overwatch over there instead is totally failing. They expect a certain honor code from corporations. A certain dignity. You have neither. So that market you were desperate to catch didn't bite your rusted hook.

4 RepliesThe reason players are constantly posting about things not dropping/working is that Bungie is not transparent with their numbers. If we could know the drop rates up front first then we would be able to understand if things are not working or it is just a case of bad RNG.

So a 5% drop rate is buffed to 7.5% Yep, this is the same Bungie that tried to rationalize a 0.04% auto rifle buff as being meaningful.
