Funny how most of the good states to live in are dominated by universities, healthcare, and engineering companies, while the crappy states are dominated by Walmart.

Everyone remember max and his current attitude of superiority next time they're talking about droughts and fires in California God damn i wish they actually had the spine to leave, but they won't. Having to deal with things yourself is scare scares ;-;

Edited by FightinFinn 2-7: 12/19/2017 7:41:56 PMTo bad your whole little pic is wrong. Oklahoma's (my state) largest employer is not walmart, as a matter of fact it doesn't even make the top 25. https://www.careerinfonet.org/oview6.asp?soccode=&id=1&nodeid=12&stfips=40&from=State

Max believes the propaganda. Surprised? Largest employer in Texas is H-E-B. Largest in Louisiana is Northrop Grumman Ship Systems. Largest in Mississippi is Nissan North America Inc. Largest in Alabama is Redstone Arsenal. Largest in Florida is Infosys Limited, but that’s only because Disney and Disney theme parks are considered separate companies. Jesus Max learn to google before you start buying the BS. Hell, the closest one that’s right on this map is Arizona with Wal-Mart as their biggest private employer. The largest employer in Arizona is the State of Arizona, but that shouldn’t be a problem since those Universities you’re so proud of are publicly funded and not private businesses.

... Honestly expected texas to be a little better. Though it still surprises me that more jobs in michigan are from the University of Michigan instead of actually being gov. based jobs. Only say this as every time i go onto the gov. site i see hundreds of job openings for the state.

1 ReplyWhat's wrong with Texas? Especially Austin. I can't even believe Walmart is bigger than HEB there.

4 RepliesEdited by FishBlues: 12/18/2017 6:51:14 PMYou can live in a nice house for cheap in Texas compared to other states so idc
Walmart sucks though
DIA is the largest employer in Colorado? Surprised. I was banking on it being something like Lockheed Martin or similar

Edited by L00: 12/19/2017 2:57:57 PMHannaford Supermarkets must be that place in every Stephen King novel where someone stops to ask for directions and the clerk says creepy things like, "Gonna drive all the way out there, ah? Well you be careful."

Well at least the states in the south aren't run by casinos.

3 RepliesEdited by Stupendous finn: 12/18/2017 8:00:57 PMWhy is Walmart employment bad compared to Industry/University employment?

Raytheon is the largest employer in Southern Arizona, unless that's changed in the past couple of years.

10 RepliesIf all the crappy states are dominated by Walmart, why isn't California also dominated by Walmart? It is a pretty crappy state after all...

That chart doesn't speak for everyone though.
Funny how most of the good states to live in are dominated by universities, healthcare, and engineering companies, while the crappy states are dominated by Walmart. 1 ReplyWhere do mass shootings happen? Where do illegal immigrants go? Where are the highest population of morons? Liberal blue states.

2 RepliesSo you think it's better when state run government services employ more than the private industry? Personally, I believe private-sector jobs pay for themselves whereas public-sector jobs are paid for by taxpayers. Keep in mind that I believe this despite the fact that I work for the government.

Funny how most of the good states to live in are dominated by universities, healthcare, and engineering companies, while the crappy states are dominated by Walmart.
Funny how “good” and “crappy” are subjective. Since I highly doubt you have visited these states, by what measure can you declare whether a state is “good” or “crappy?”
ITT: Salty southerners trying desperately to defend their crappy state.
Too much sodium in one's diet is one of the leading causes of heart problems. I was honestly expecting Hawaii to have more employed in their tourist industry, tbh. A good chunk of Oahu and Hilo are huge tourist spots.

ITT:Salty southerners trying desperately to defend their crappy state.
Aren't you originally from the south or close to it? That's not really relevant to anything per se, just asking.

But Texas has Walmart as the largest employer, and that’s a pretty amazing state.

You're not wrong honestly.
