Hey guys ,
Just a friendly discussion and hopes I can get some thoughts on this.
As we know that laser tag week is gone for almost a week, but I would like to point out per my experience regarding the insanely fast TTK, and how some of the lessons learned brought another perspective of weapon strength and overall player experience of PvP.
1) reduced TTK of the Lens made Crucible a lot more open and fast paced. Matches were decided quickly by score as opposed to time more often
2) because of the PL quick TTK, which ties into point one, because crucible became wide open, it allowed for much more 1v1 engagements.
3) reduced TTK made Crucible feel like D1 again in terms of fun. It was chaotic and brought out a lot of laughs.
In my opinion, especially from a player that grinds PvP most of my time, what would make the game enjoyable is to bring back TTK of D1 into D2. Need to make it where accuracy is awarded more than just relying on teammates
-
D2 crucible should be just like D1 crucible
-
Faster ttk = kids with no skill getting cheap easy kills. Go play CoD son. It's a shit show of cheap quick kills.
-
TTK for lens was WAY WAY shorter than D1 It was similar to the original Vex Mythoclast. If you had it you were god in crucible and no one could kill you. the lens made it so you could use only the lens or you die. a lot. yea you could get kills but just if they never see you. therese no beating a lens head to head unless you have a lens. so for me it got real boring real fast. yea if you suck at crucible it was real fun as you could finally get a kill but its not FUN getting insta gibbed or even insta gibbing people after a couple hours. how long would crucible last with that dynamic? It wouldnt. It would DIE. That is a fact.
-
So... go back to the D1 style of Crucible? The one that like 90% of players shit on as not fair or balanced? TTK isnt the problem. Its 4v4 always will be. 6v6 was allot more engaging in everyway.
-
I think it was fun too. I would like to see iron banner change to double weapon damage across the board.
-
If I wanted to play laser tag I'd go play cs.

PRAISE THE LORDS. AT LEAST SOMEONE IS NOT STUPID. BUNGIE ! MAKE IT HAPPEN NOOBS

Edited by Laser Kittens: 12/19/2017 4:26:52 AMI'm for a reduction in TTK. Even if we get it, I'm curious how it will be emplamented. Increased weapon damage? Reduced player health? Combination of the two? Many tweaks would be necessary to make sure all weapons still fit their intended engagement range. Only time will tell. Side note: if for no other reason- fan of low TTK to give a team a fighting chance when their teammates drop out. Especially key for competitive where it doesn't seem to auto-fill the empty slots...

I absolutely hate the team shot life I run and gun alone and that sucks in d2
-
The current TTK means in a 1v1 you can always run away. Make mistakes and survive. But if you are in a 1v2 or more you’re going to lose. It means it’s not skill based it’s volume of fire and handholding that gets kills.

Who plays this game for PvP? LOL
-
What I saw with the PL wasmore blowout matches. Every single match I played was a blowout . Not a single close match.that is not my idea of fun PvP. but I will say, What they should do, if provide a gametype similar to Halo's action Sack and rotate thru different combinations of weapons every weeekend. One weekend- Hardlight or PL, the next weekend rockets and shotguns, the next weekend no supers. Will this be offered. HECK NO. Havn't you figured it out yet? THEY DON'T WANT YOU PLAYING THIS GAME.
-
You want fun back into PvP? Fun just don't go around here. No, it's all about "balance". lol.
-
You speak the truth. Most fun I had ever had in D2 lazer tag love kill people with swords running at me.
-
Most fun I've had in crucible in a while
-
TTK = Time to kill Your welcome everyone.
-
Should have just brought the same ttk from destiny 1 but with all new weapons and abilities.
-
Fast time to kill is not good in a game with roaming supers. It was ok in Destiny 1, because there were only a few roaming supers, and people didn't notice as much. The only way to counteract this is to make supers have even more damage reduction. It wouldn't work as well, because the players need to be able to actually get into melee range to use their supers. Right now, there isn't much need for damage reduction in Super abilities, and the time to kill allows for players to react and interact, as opposed to getting instantly killed by Grenades, Melees or Special weapons. Its a different kind of power fantasy. There is tough and there is deadly. D1 was deadly, D2 is tough, but in all reality, most of the power in terms of Power weapons and super abilities is still there. Its in fact magnified by the slower time to kill. Getting a power weapon really gives players an edge vs Kinetic/Energy weapons. The game is better with a longer time to kill, because of the actual gameplay involved. Destiny comes from Halo, and Bungie doesn't need to reinvent the wheel per se. Destiny was an experimentation in terms of how loadouts can work, and what would happen if they gave players power weapons from the get go. It wasn't particularly well balanced, and that's why it was changed. I'm not saying that the game is perfectly balanced right now. I'm saying it doesn't need to and shouldn't be changed back to D1.

disagreed. But I have no factual reasons. I just like having longer gunfights that have more "moments" to change the outcome. I hear statements like "lower TTK to make us feel more powerful"... not sure I understand. in most games bullets are quick deaths. CoD has way low TTK. I DON'T feel powerful. Halo has high TTK. I feel powerful. Being able to react is where my sensation of power comes from.

If you want a faster ttk then -blam!- off to cod

Edited by Scissors: 12/18/2017 4:46:44 PMI don't think that this is the best Idea. First off, one major problem with low TtK is that it can often mean whoever lands the first shot wins, rather than whoever is more mechanically skilled. Along with that, Higher TtK allows for more weapon variety. For example, lets say I really like SMGs, which lack long range in exchange for having an insanely low TtK. Now then, if you made the Nameless Midnight (SR) have the same TtK as The Showrunner (SMG), then there would be ABSOLUTELY no reason to ever pick the Showrunner, as it is outclasses by the Nameless Midnight in every. It takes approximately 0.2 seconds to blink, and the average human has a reaction time of 0.25 seconds, which means that if you reduce the TtK on weapons to low, then you could literally be killed and have no clue how, as you could potentially get killed before your brain even processes that you were killed. The only weapons that should have that power are power weapons. Also, as to your statement about how it would be funner, the moajority of people don't like dying without any knowledge of how.
-
WRONG. Longer TTK means more options and deeper game play. In games with super quick TTK (CoD, Titanfall) the whole thing usually boils down to who got the drop on who. You can get killed before you even know where the fire is coming from. Longer TTK means that someone can get the drop on you but if you have enough skill you can actually escape/counter. That's actually fun as opposed to just having whoever sees the other person first win.
-
D1's TTK was the sweet spot for me. Slower than cod, faster than halo.
-
I agree - a faster TTK would break the reliance on team-shooting. Having to rely on team shooting is really boring.
-
Get rid of the team shot multiplier...
-
Maybe just increase body shot damage instead. I cant think of any game as reliant on headshots as destiny. Even with the old halos headshots only mattered for single shot or burst weapons.
