Anyone who bought silver in Destiny 1 probably has 100 silver left over from that deal or whatever that gave you 100 extra for buying like $10 worth of Silver. And lets be honest as much as I love Destiny 1 I don't think I'm going to go buy silver there just to get rid of all my balance. I would like to see a patch or something that brings left over Destiny 1 silver to your account on Destiny 2. I mean it makes sense to me. I don't think people will go back to Destiny 1 and buy silver unless they are a new player in which case that is understandable (Even though you can get literally everything from saving Silver Dust or doing the Weekly Rituals like Crucible and a Heroic Strike etc.). I think that this would be a nice little suprise for those players who have left over silver on Destiny and who play Destiny 2.
