For me, Cuphead. Not only as divinely stylistic as the likes of Jet Set Radio Future and Bayonetta, also an absolute ton of fun too. Imaginative designs and insane visuals - as well as dat difficulty - make this perhaps the single most rewarding and delightful game of the year.
How about you lot? As a reminder, nominees for the OffIcial Geoff Keighley AwardsTM were Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, Horizon, Person 5, and PUBG. You may have also enjoyed Destiny 2 (I did), Nier Automata, Wolfenstein II, Prey, Nioh, and Shadow of War.

I've just started playing Hellblade a couple days ago, and so far it is the best game I've played from this year. Destiny 2 was a huge letdown, and Nier and Nioh didn't really pull me in. [Those are the only games I've played that released this year]

I didn't play any of the games that came out this year, regardless of that fact, I'm still going to say Nier.

Nier Automata all the way. It’s my favourite game I’ve ever played, I loved the story, the music was beautiful, art style was awesome, characters were really well done and developed and the fighting was pretty cool. If (when) it comes out on the switch, if I have the money for it then I won’t hesitate to rebuy it.

2 RepliesHard choice. It's a tossup between Divinity: Original Sin 2, Path of Exile, and Stardew Valley. All 3 games excel in what they do, and I've easily dumped over 150-200 hours into each game throughout this year. If anything, I'll have to go with Stardew Valley. It may not look great to many because it emulates the graphics of a game that's 16 bit, but the relaxing gameplay, the great character stories and character development of said characters, and also the music is what cinched the game for me. Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Path of Exile excel very well in the RPG elements, and definitely have awesome gameplay. For Divinity, the characters have awesome backstories, and their interactions are definitely on point. For Path of Exile, it has an extremely innovative way to play characters, and also great item build pathways and customization. While both games are top contenders (for me), I see the amount of love and passion that the sole creator of Stardew Valley put into his work, and that's what allowed me to pick it over the other two.

Horizon Zero Dawn and Prey for GOTY. And Gurilla Games should have received an award for taking a risk and making HZD, a risk that payed off in a big way.

2b more like 2butt imarite but seriously my GOTY gotta be Elex its pretty fun and goofy in a weird way. This year has been kinda lackluster in terms of memorable games for me but I know 2018 is already gonna be good because of Ace Combat 7.
