Destiny 2 Changes To Weapons, Strikes & Gear

Now that the traveler has awoken Destiny 2 can take off in many different ways, a new “Golden Age”; below are a few suggestions I thought of and said to myself “What the hell, why not post them.” Exotic weapon suggestions: Graviton Lance – The weapon says that it rips a hole through spacetime, so why not instead of having a perk that causes an explosion with a precision kill it could cause an “implosion”. It could cause a mini black hole that instead of pushing enemies away it pulls surrounding enemies towards the singularity causing damage. Fighting Lion – Grenade shell should split into three balls when it bounces off a surface, then release button to detonate. D.A.R.C.I – Weapon should show humorous stats of the target Ex: Likes walks on the beach – When targeting a Hive Knight. Also, the weapon should show precision damage locations on targets and the weapon could also create a smaller precision location within the normal precision damage location, that if hit would cause 3x precision damage. Ex: Highlight precision damage location on target in yellow, but show a smaller target in red that causes 3x precision damage. Armor suggestions: I think there should be a new class of armor in Destiny 2, one that would basically amount to an exotic armor set rather than wearing single pieces of exotic armor. These armor types would complement one another and should be customizable in both function and appearance. To not make exotic armor obsolete, they would still carry more powerful perks while the new armor class could have multiple varying perks. For the sake of explaining I will designate the new armor class as Red Armor. Red Armor Class The traveler being awake offers new opportunities to bring new tech and new vendors; one vendor could deal in the creation of a new armor type. The Red Armor would be a new niche in the Destiny world, giving the players the opportunity to level up their favorite pieces of gear from “Green Level” to “Exotic Level” and in a sense becoming legend during the process. Different activities could offer armor materials that the vendor could use to create the pieces of armor while other activities could offer mods and upgrade materials to further increase the armors’ level and appearance. The armor itself could have a base appearance during its first level, but through the vendor, the player would have the option to upgrade to different levels and looks depending on which armor set the player likes. The vendor could have a variety of armor sets available for the player to choose from each with different themes Ex: Samurai, Medieval or Futuristic. Also the armor would be able to receive Exotic Mods that would give the player the ability to customize their armor to their preferred subclass, making it that even if a guardian has a similar look to another guardian their armors’ abilities could still be completely different. The Red Armor Class would level up in stages, requiring the players to complete certain activities and milestones to receive the needed supplies to upgrade and mod their armor. Strike suggestions: I personally enjoy playing strike missions, and I have a few suggestions that I believe would make strikes more enjoyable. First off, strike missions should have a voting option, allowing players to choose from two or three options to avoid having the same strike coming up repeatedly. Strike missions should also have multiple paths to completion depending on if the player completes a list of challenges or finds an alternate route. For example, Say you’re fighting Bob the Hive overlord that puts Orx to shame, and the strike mission requires you to shut down one of his summoning rituals, the mission could have within it 3 paths to completion: Easy, Hard, & Legendary, each with a set of challenges that would need to be completed within the mission to be unlocked. Easy path The most straightforward way to complete the mission; your objective would be simply to play through the strike and stop the ritual. No challenges completed, basic rewards awarded. Hard path Because you have completed a set of challenges, Bob has taken notice, and Bob sends tougher groups of enemies to put an end to you. Also a new path has opened, allowing you to explore more of the area and destroy more of Bob’s stuff. A new set of challenges becomes available. The challenges are completely optional and are not required to complete the strike. From this point on until the final objective the enemies will be tougher. First set of challenges completed, good rewards awarded. Legendary path Bob is pissed. You’ve completed the second set of challenges and defeated the tough enemies he has sent after you, also you have destroyed more of his stuff. Bob sends his elite soldiers to eliminate you. A new path becomes available leading you to the final objective of the mission. From this point on until the final objective the enemies will be elite and there will be a special boss waiting for you at the end. Both sets of challenges completed, legendary rewards awarded. This, I feel, would give the strike missions a more organic feel and also provide an additional challenge for those who need to be tested. Guardian suggestions I feel that the guardians themselves should be defined more strongly. To compare it to Japanese warriors; I see the hunter as a ninja, the warlock as a samurai and the titan as a tank barbarian, and I believe they should be separated into such. Give them access to different weapons from one another, specialty weapons that only they each have access to. This would make each character feel much different and give the game more replay value, because the experience of playing as each character would be much different from the other. I could go on and on, but I guess I’ll stop here. These are a few suggestions I have for a game I enjoy and believe can be even greater with a few tweaks. If you have read this far, Thank You, I hope you enjoyed your read. Please up vote and spread the word, I want to get someone at Bungie to read this. Also there should be a button that allows the camera to pan to 3rd person view to make platforming more smooth, that pans back when you aim…. Sorry I said I would stop.
