Is D1 still worth playing?

Hello fellow guardians, As many of you have expressed, D2 is not living up to its expectations and I too have moved on from the game. As someone who started expressing interest in Destiny just a few months ago, I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether or not it is worth it to play D1? I have heard many good things about the game, but I'm wondering if it would even be worth playing considering that it is receiving little to no support from Bungie anymore. For example, would I still be able to obtain a majority of the weapons/armor? As someone who enjoys soloing difficult PvE content, would I be able to play all of the strikes and other activities? It is a shame that I missed out on D1 when it was at its peak... Thank you for your input, Scotty2K

  • Eh. It’s got less problems, but there’s no new content, so it can get super boring.

    • Destiny 2 maintainence is scheduled for tomorrow, and it will be a long session. An excellent time to find out for yourself if D1 is still worthwhile, yes?

    • If You never play D1...its totally 1000% much better than D2. Even for the Weapon mechanic wise D2 is better than the closest FPS Game..Halo. I love Halo...but Destiny has a better weapon mechanic. For The best D1 PVE in weapons/gears wise was during TDB released...after that the started nerfing them for PVP Balance. The worse of Destiny is D2..Its built based on PVP Balancing. The main flaw of D2 is Mixing Special and Heavy weapons in 1 slot. "Meh" exotic Armors/Weapons...etc I have plan to abandon D2 and get back to D1 after they nerf the Lens. Mainly in D1 PVP...and sometimes Patrol just shooting things. I will wait for D3 and keep monitoring Halo. Love my Shoulder Charge in D1 PVP..even it make my K/D 0.0001...but it soo much fun than D2 Team shooting....lol

    • Most definitely. I would love the chance to erase all my memories of D1 and start it all over again. You won’t get the proper grind that we had in year 1, and pve activities that were challenging at the time won’t be any more as you’ll level past them too quickly. But there’s lots of great content there. .

    • Totally worth playing. More stuff, better more special exotics and cool quests to get them. Me, I won't stop until I get my last 3 exotic weapons (and one more exotic class item...)
