Headlights emit light. Light travels at the speed of light, or 3.0 x 10^8 m/s. OP is asking that if a car was somehow going at the speed of light, would the headlights work? The car and the light emitted by the headlights would be going the same speed.

Just in case you don't understand what you're saying, I'll spell it out for you: OP does not mean "work" as in "not break," but he means "work" as accomplish their intended task, which is providing light that the driver can see. I thought that was fairly obvious.

  • Okay, if you're so smart, why don't you explain your genius to a plebeian like me?

I figured that, and I even said that here:
OP does not mean "work" as in "not break," but he means "work" as accomplish their intended task, which is providing light that the driver can see.
The word "work" is very vague, and it fairly easy for someone to get confused, as I originally did, but I corrected myself. But yet you still attacked me and said I didn't understand it. That wasn't even a good joke.

  • You figured it was a joke and yet still tried to explain it to me? So you knew I was joking, joking enough that I CLEARLY understand what he actually meant, but yet still chose to explain it to me and when I told you that you don't understand my joke because you continued to try and explain the stuff to me, not once, not twice, but three times, you got mad when I got annoyed by your inability to understand my joke that you're offended by me telling you it was just a joke, but to top it all off you had to include that it wasn't a good joke even though I never said it was comedy gold. Is that what's going on here? Again, Dr Oblivious
