Easily the hardest Solo challenge I've completed in Destiny 2 thus far. Possibly in all of Destiny 1 as well.
---
First again, I'd like to give credit to Modern Tryhard for proving to me that this was in fact possible. The first week this Nightfall was around we were both pretty adamant that this wouldn't be possible on Prestige. However the second time it came around he put in a lot of work into showing that it was possible, found some very big time skips and the whole Skullfort idea itself. I made a lot of my own adjustments throughout the run to make things more consistent and workable, but without him I probably wouldn't have tried it myself. So full credit to him!
As for the run itself, it's entirely contingent on being both a Striker Titan with the top tree, and having the Insurmountable Skullfort Helmet. The only thing that makes this possible is the damage from Pulse Grenades, and allowing you to constantly recharge you grenades with Shoulder Charge and Insurmountable Skullfort. I do not see this being remotely possible on any other class with these modifiers.
For those who don't know, the Striker top tree has a perk that if you damage an enemy with Shoulder Charge you get Grenade Energy back. The Insurmountable Skullfort gives you Shoulder Charge back if you kill an enemy with it, so you can farm Thrall or low health enemies throughout the strike to be able to constantly have grenades up.
The run itself is pretty tight, even though I had 5 deaths throughout my clear it doesn't take away from the difficulty. Enemies in here completely melt you, and there's several points throughout the strike that are purely decided by RNG with nothing you can control about it. To say I cut it close here would be an understatement... but got it done in the end! A perfect run I think you could realistically have around 2+ minutes remaining, assuming you had the best clear in every section and perfect RNG.
Took me about 15 hours total to get done. I spent ~9 hours last time it was the Nightfall, and about 6 hours total this week. Most of the time was just spent finding working consistent approaches to each section, particularly the later phases of the boss fight. Pretty happy to have knocked this one out, which makes for 4/5 of the Prestige Nightfalls now completed solo. All that's remaining is Exodus Crash, which has unfortunately been bugged so haven't been able to attempt it!
Gear/build all shown in the video as per usual. And any other questions feel free to ask! :)
