Hey, there.
Tomorrow, we had planned to conduct the final stream prior to the launch of “Curse of Osiris” to show off some of the weapons and armor the expansion includes. Instead, we are investing all our efforts into delivering some higher priority information about Destiny 2. You’ll hear from studio leadership about their assessment of Destiny all up, they’ll talk about our goals for the game going forward, and you’ll also learn about how we’re reacting to your feedback with some game updates that will arrive in the next few weeks.
That will appear on the Bungie Blog on Wednesday.
Thank you,
DeeJ

Edited by Dr. Oetker: 11/29/2017 2:50:59 PMHere are my thoughts. The player investment is really suffering from the removal and simplifying of d1s systems and mechanics. If d2 can get back to were d1 left off we are back to a good place. This game has huge potential it’s so sad not to see it met . What I want to see *subclass recharge is still too slow, increase charge earned from kills. This would make pve more fun and only slightly change pvp. It is a space magic game after all. *Primary, special, heavy. Make side arms primary and grenade launchers special. *nightfall timer . Yes this adds an extra level of challenge but it makes the experience way less fun . Keep the timer as a bonus achievement . I.e if you beat the timer you get double xp for example . Kicking people out for not beating the timer is just needlessly frustrating . It’s not going to encourage new players to try it either in my opinion . *return to random rolls. However vanguard, crucible , trials and raid can all stay fixed. Anything outside of that could be random. Maybe limiting the perk pool might reduce super weapons . *mod system . If random rolls are off the table then make the mod system viable . Add mod slots to weapons and armour, this is how we make things unique or cater to our own play style . *useful vendors, at the moment they are just slot machines effectively . Give them the old style rank up back an inventory of things to sell. Maybe make the items for sale sale only not rank up drops . *shaders, the new system is just really poor, there has to be a better way to manage this surely ? Firstly not even enough space for them all, secondly single use was just poor planning . Group deletion would help if it’s staying like this . *titans having 2 grenades as part of the perk tree is terrible design and totally unbalanced. This should be an exotic perk like armitarium from d1 *new exotics . Some are great , Orpheus rig, some are useless lucky pants . Weapon based exotics are not great overall. The only exception is the Titan war rig that’s where you’ve got it right . *old exotics. I’m fine with returning stuff , however changing the perks on them is just lazy, either make something new OR do something within the lore like siva infection to justify the changes . It’s just lazy Re skins as is now . *the new perk tree system should have launched with 3 paths for each subclass. Example , a death from above path for striker, a hunger path for void walker . This would at least increase the variation . *rewards in general, the game feels too generous In a way . There are so many opportunity’s to earn 300 engrams . It’s great having the new clan system but the amount of rewards seem over the top honestly . *raids need drops not tokens , that’s where the sense of achievement comes from not tokens to get the same weapon over and over . *useful perks on raid gear? At a even the must uninspired level how about plus 10% damage on cabal enemies? *i preferred bounties, just my preference . *gunsmith test weapons? Unique gunsmith rewards for completing them like d1. Again this was something totally basic that was removed . *milestones, so uninspired it’s depressing. Literally getting a 300 engrams for 5 public events is just poor, same for crucible . D1 had so much variation in the weekly bounties AND they rotated each week. Why has this been regressed after being sold to us as ‘rituals’. *bright engrams , I don’t really have a problem with them to be honest , it doesn’t represent pay to play in my opinion . However bungies handling of it was as usual totally off the mark . To find now the xp requirement has doubled is just a big screw you to the players who actually invested time in it . I firmly believe if bungie wasn’t outed by the gaming media it would still be active right now . This is the kind of thing that destroys consumer confidence in a brand . I could go on but I feel like these are all things for consideration, I think most players would agree with the majority of my points. Thanks
