Incoming Developer Commentary about Destiny.
Hey, there.
Tomorrow, we had planned to conduct the final stream prior to the launch of “Curse of Osiris” to show off some of the weapons and armor the expansion includes. Instead, we are investing all our efforts into delivering some higher priority information about Destiny 2. You’ll hear from studio leadership about their assessment of Destiny all up, they’ll talk about our goals for the game going forward, and you’ll also learn about how we’re reacting to your feedback with some game updates that will arrive in the next few weeks.
That will appear on the Bungie Blog on Wednesday.

My family still is actually enjoying this game (cousins, clanmates, military bubs), sure we have some issues, but it's still good fun with the peeps...even random people I talk to still enjoy it. The xp thing didn't upset me, who cares if you lied everyone does to gain an advantage at some point in life. Plus bright engrams can come and go, and if you play enough you'll eventually get everything in game even with the rng, so I still have no problem. People don't want static rolls, well, how about different mods, and at least two mod slots...give diversity to each weapon other than exotics...(our legendaries should become exotics imo, even though still classified as a legendary, we just make it super badass and everyone can get pissed at a different weapon every PvP match). Gear is fun even if reskinned, but hate to say it, hunters = mobility, locks = recovery, titans = resilence...so how about different mods again, two additional slots, and each piece of gear you get, you get a one time decision to slot 3 points divided into the catagories (res, recove, mob), if you really liked that helm and want another one to fit a different style...grind it out. Mobility, add more to it please (slight sprint increase or weapon handling % increase). Res needs more damage reduction, for instance dmg from a nade should be reduced a certain %, and HCR effect the kick back less.

I think someone finally realized the Xp scam and that people were asleep at the wheel with this one. Very strange to cancel a stream and talk with the project lead the day before. Would love to be a fly on the wall at bungie.

1 ReplyI really have never spoken about the game in any forums. Bought D1, been playing since release and was super excited when D2 came out. But I was disappointed. The replay value of... Well everything disappointed me. I hate the engram grind, the disheartening way rewards are distributed. The lack of ability to still communicate with players in game other then VOIP while partied. There is no reason to do strikes, no real reason to do the night fall once your over 300 light. The Cade chests don't give anything and when it does is always disappointing across three characters. Last major problem for me. Friends scattered across platforms. I know that you can not make that work. But if we wanted to but this game for other systems it would be nice to be able to copy our data, I would be more incentivised to but D2 for PC or Xbox to play with my friends if I could take my character data with me. Without it I don't even want to start the grind again. So I'm more likely to walk away from the game.

Actually were on to you guys. This game has turned deal fast. You took a potential gold mine and turned it into fool's gold. I can't wait to see destiny 3 release and have low sales. You developers have robed us for to long. You treat even your own staff like deal. Glad lawsuits have been filed against you and won. I hope there is more to come. Thanks for ruining one of the best games I played. Cheat you're community and supporters more. Way to go bungie

3 RepliesI doubt this will even be read but for once I thought I would voice my opinion. I do think that all the community issues need to be addressed with much needed urgency and haste. I do think that putting off the final reveal trailer is a mistake. I can’t speak for anyone but myself, I have yet to decide if the upcoming DLC is worth my money. Without any further information as to its content I’m inclined to believe that my money is better spent in other places. I’m sure there are more than enough employees at Bungie to take care of the reveal AND the blog post concerning the community issues. I do hope that the powers that be at Activision and Bungie decide to find enough moral fortitude and honesty to do what is right for the consumers. Deej, I know you are caught in the middle between your bosses and the community. I know you don’t have free reign on what information you can disclose and that makes it seem like you don’t care. Do what you can do and say anything you can to the community on any platform you can, the reputation of the company you work for and your public image depends on it.

To keep it short i'll shortlist my main concerns in order of importance to me: * Any plans to make shaders permanent in some form? * Any plans for a fully expanded Vault Collection for Uncommon, Rare and Legendary items? I would love to collect/unlock all pieces of armor and weapons. This could include and be organised by armor and weapon sets (per their sources like Crucible, EDZ, etc) * Any plans on vendors? Currently it is all lootbox based, i want to purchase pieces individually. Alternatively make Engrams from reputation to never give duplicates. * Any plans for /say, /planet and /clan chat channels? Any plans for proximity and clan voice chat? * Any plans for better MMO features like item linking in chat, multiple item previews, transmat previews, target dummies, map waypoints, group/clan members positions on map, etc? * PC user interface is very awkward, slow and unnecessarily complicated. Things that can be shown on a single screen are spread out through 4-6 screens. Would love a rework of the interface. * I really don't care about Eververse and wouldn't mind to see it gone completely. However I might think about purchasing stuff from it if it wasn't sourced in lootboxes (Bright Engrams), i want to purchase all items directly. * I don't have an opinion on random weapon rolls since i didn't play D1 and don't really know how it was. That said i don't like random anything and would prefer to be able ot mod item traits directly instead of random traits.

I like this move. It's a step in the right direction rather than just sticking to the playbook while the house burns down.
