Would have more options but not allowed.
I'm all for straight piped 4 cylinders, those things can sound nice. V10s can also sound pretty good but I don't really like lambo v10s.

I currently drive an I4, but it still has the stock exhaust and doesn't sound bad. Modded I4's or Boxers sound nauseating. I6 and V6 are forgettable. Diesel's are obnoxious. V10 and V12 all have their own distinct sound, but only a V12 at full song sounds impressive. But there is no substitute for a properly plumbed V8. You have the best mix of that V8 burble at idle to the full attitude at higher RPM. I prefer the Ford V8 sound over the GM or Dodge. The firing order sets the tone, and Ford's is more melodic at idle.
