I played Destiny 1 from day 1, I enjoyed it right from the vanilla upto rise of iron. I'd hop in and go exploring with no particular goals because it was fun. In Destiny 2 I want to play and as soon as I load in all I can think is what the hell can I do? As soon as you get your powerful engrams there is no reason to play. With all the gear dropping at 294 there is no reason for me to level up anything. There are caps on experience and cooldowns on chests and engrams. I can't even be bothered to complete the raid. It seems that everything I enjoyed about Destiny is gone. I'm not going to buy the dlc till it's been out for a while and only if there's a significant change, which honestly it doesn't look like there will be. It's not about the amount of content for me, the game just isn't fun anymore.

People may dislike D1 because of ability spamming, god roll gear, the grind for items that may never drop, quests lines for exotics that were time intensive, pub stomping in pvp, or trials that rewarded the best with the best. But, there was variety, replay value in the hunt for those items. More importantly, choice of play. This will always and forever win over stale, repetitive, static, and linear play. This holds true for any game.
