Open up Nightfall and Raids to standard matchmaking

Make it a player choice. I do not have friends, I do not want friends, I do not want to try and match my schedule with 2-5 other clan mates when there is no in game chat system to talk with them. I want to sit down after work, grab a beer and play your game. Why are you making it so difficult? It was the #1 issue with destiny 1 and you didn't bother to fix it? And guided games don't count. Sitting in a queue for god knows how long and you aren't even allowed to play the game when in the guided game queue? Thanks but no thanks. I truly want to like this game. Graphics are amazing. Combat mechanics are enjoyable. But this bs about random matchmaking being against your core values is weak. Let us make the choice to risk getting a rotten apple in our group.

  • If you choose to not have friends why are you playing a social game? 3 years ago I was like you but wanted to raid and do NF's.Guess what I did? Yep I made friends and joined a clan and have close to 500 raid clears in Destiny. If I can do it you can do it,it's not hard at all. MM for any raid would be a complete disaster and anyone that thinks differently is a complete moron.

    • Nightfalls, I guess. But a raid with matchmaking would be really bad. I've seen people have a hard time navigating basic strikes. Communication is actually necessary in this raid, you don't want some randos who don't even know the mechanics, refuse to learn them and don't have any kind of voice chat to take up all the matchmaking slots.

      • Lets see how enjoyable that is when 40 people in a row back out on your no mic 284 ass when you're trying to raid, not going to happen simply because they understand that such an experience would be way more frustrating for large parts of the community than the "problem" of people being to passive to find their own team. One Bungie would be at fault & the other is quite frankly your own problem.

          • For the love of god no. Not the raid. The nightfall on easy maybe. It will be very frustrating to get through without communtication. The completion rate would be far below 5% with matchmaking.

              • In case nobody has noticed, guided games is just a beta. It's what bungie is using as a test basis in trying to work this out for people. Part of the clan rule was intended so that communication would seemingly flow better through a group of friends who know eachothers strengths and weaknesses to adjust for them making it easier on the new guy randomly thrown in with a group. I play on Xbox and have had nothing but positive experiences when I have played guided games, in fact my friends are more casial players so literally every time I've played and beaten the raid it is through guided games. That said my experiences apparently vastly differ from those who come to these forums to vent about their frustrations in it. We don't see co ole took stats but bungie does, so they seemingly alone right now can see how things are going, and slight changes are being introduced and we can gather data from that too. Bungie said its goal was to try to make a system that helped gamers get through the raid easier. I hate to say this but typically opening a shallow pool where help trickles in is not made better by adding and ocean of toxic garbage. It leads to more frustrations more people quitting after an hour more people getting booted because they died once in the raid, it may solve for one problematic variable but introduces several others. I know you see it as a simple matter of choice with the knowledge it has the likely potentially to be a bad time, but for bungie it's a new wave of headaches and problems they now need to address. As it is (again being in beta) guided games is still being worked as well. Part of a great idea bungie had was these rankings where people who quit and force the rest to suffer or go back to find a new group and start again would get low ranking so people would know to avoid these players. In functionality however I've seen people have an honest disconnect, and come right back that get penalized, I've seen it where the initial warning of a Penelty goes by to quick without giving us time to vote to let a guy quit out to rejoin due to a bug. That's been an issue, we've had it where the baths were a problem because each person in the room had a separate person for each of us that we could not see. We literally had to all leave and reform outside guided games which stunk because now I couldn't help that group of guides get their emblem because we couldn't see each other. I get you don't like to wait but heck even if you can form a clan of three people you can be guided and get other new people to help almost instantly btw. And yes there is a fair amount of solo seekers who have gone through the raid numerous times and can be an even bigger help. I get you don't like waiting, sorry. This is how bungie is getting raid data with various groups and trying to find some balance or incentive to it as well. Refusing to take part in what can ultimately help form a system and ratings and matchmaking to help keep the toxic players out of the main pool is part of what this beta is trying to look at. To see where to go from there and improve. Watching from the sidelines isn't going to make it come any quicker if that's what you truly are looking for.
