Nightstalker. Woo, big surprise, but seriously. Nightstalker is probably one of the best-equipped classes for solo play in Crucible due to its sheer evasive capabilities. Crouch faster, sprint faster, invisidodge, better radar, its all great for avoiding teams and picking off stragglers. Of course, it will play terribly if you ignore a few basic fundamentals:
Dont play aggressively. Getting up-close-and-personal means you are always gonna be fighting alongside your rando teammates against a full enemy team. Crouch down in a sniper lane, get a scout rifle, and pick off anyone who stays in the open too long. Most of the time they wont even see you.
As for invisibility, most people use it to charge at an enemy with an SMG in the vain hope for an easy kill. What you SHOULD use invisidodge for is to escape a conflict when you know your enemy has the advantage. Invisidodge keeps them from seeing you on the radar, allowing you to get away and recover. Most crucible players have short attention-spans, and shoot the first thing that moves, which means they wont waste time tracking you across a map. If someone DOES track you across a map, smile smugly that you just wasted their time. If they shoot first, if someone comes from a location you didnt predict, GTFO. Dont fight if you dont have to.
My personal loadout consists of Foetracer, varied primaries, Seven Six Five scout rifle, Traitor's Fate sword, and mods for grenade, melee, and class abilities. Youll want all of these charging as quickly as possible. For my grenade, i use Voidwall because if you bounce it off a Titan's shield the flames can sometimes penetrate the shield, forcing the enemy out of cover. Gotta love D2 physics.
Sure, this loadout wont be showering you with kills, and its not a fast-track to a 2.0 K/D, but it can allow for some incredibly slick plays against the enemy, especially against organized teams. With this build, your objective is to create chaos by picking off stragglers, evading attackers, and tracking the enemy's movements. Find weaknesses, and exploit them to your advantage.

Edited by finRatman: 11/21/2017 7:07:40 PMI mostly play solo and do decent. Playing aggressively can be pretty rewarding sometimes since the game has such a high TTK. It's way easier to survive when being outnumbered by a group of enemies in D2 than in D1. I play as a Gunslinger and Sentinel.

guys come on he’s just trying to help ppl n you all just shoot them down straight away this community is bout helping each other not having a go at them some ppl may find this helpful we don’t need your negativity in the forums like this when someone is advising or trying

Just did this. Got a "We Ran Out of Medals".

Um... my two year old averages 5 kills a game. And he just stands there shooting in place lol. He knows enough to move and turn and shoot. I laugh when I see a Player just run at him and get mowed down.

hm, Voidwalker with Devour can be pretty silly and get you a nice streak of 5
Don’t fight if you don’t have to.
Probably the best advice for PVP in general. Great post!
*giraffe noise*
If the enemy is unable to spot the vague horrible invisibility then you simply faced newbs... If you want an easier time try Titan Striker... Or any warlock... that way u got decent stats along with usefull ultimates.. Funny enough the one here who claims hunters being good has a hunter level 1 barely created and a titan 261 & warlock 279.... troll has been spotted...

Nice one man! My nightstalker has a lot of fun in PvP solo, sadly it seems that I get partnered with some of the worst blueberries out there whenever I'm on hunter. Less often on Warlock. I'm not great, I know it, but I fight hard, and get top scores sometimes. All you people complaining about the solo queue should read the OP's advice, it might not make you better, but it could help.

2 words: Last Hope. It evens out the playing field more than any other gun. I also don't play Hunter, so I didn't read. Sorry.

Edited by Mr Fats: 11/19/2017 10:16:40 AMSo basically, avoid confrontation and hide as much as you can, try to crouch and go invisible as often as possible to pick up that poor bastard that just spawned alone on the other side of the map but only if he is alone. This is a great tip, looks like so much fun, can't wait to play crucible now THanks but I will stick to not playing or even better go back to D1

Make a sammich and camp. Rite?

Thanks! I used to use nightstalker but love arcstrider too much to leave them. It’s very difficult though to use the arcstrider super on pc because of how easy it is to hit me when using a mouse

oh, so you're one of those annoying invisible sneak around backstab hunters I see. yeah, its effective but I really don't want to play like a cheap sweaty bastard I mean, I want to play a game where both sides had fun and want to say 'good game' to each other afterwards and being on the receiving end of that hunter strategy, i sure don't want to say nice things to them afterwards so I definitely wouldn't want to play that way against others...

Or play d1 👍

Void warlock, high mobilty, blink, mida, traversive steps.

You can do well with almost any subclass playing the run, hide, shoot method. But with bad enough randoms and a competent team on the other end it won’t matter much. But does go a ways.

You're still learning the basic ropes, which is very obvious in your post and typical of what is seen on this board these days. It's easy to translate your self description into a virtual play reel. Contrary to your methods, Nightstalker is and can be very much an in your grill subclass. You're also going about a number of things inefficiently. No, I'm not going to provide advice. I hold close to the chest in this environment. I'm already taxed heavily enough for the benefit of others in this co-op. Also, there are plenty of good Warlocks and Titans out there, Nightstalker isn't the only way. Good luck, hope to see you out there..... :-)

Edited by dog_eye14: 11/19/2017 8:37:42 AMI want to start by saying that it’s admirable that you’re trying to help your fellow guardian. However, as fellow Nightstalker in PvP I have to say that promoting this is going to get our shit nerfed.

Counter advice: outplay me with Halfdan. D and I will send you a GG message every time. Going invisible and stabbing me in the back - you can -blam!- right off!
-
Yay, more nightstalkers! Just what I want... 🙂
-
Play crucible in D1. There, fixed that for you 👍
