I want to love the game, but I can't.

First off let me just say Destiny 2 feels like Destiny 1.5. While it is still a fun game once you reach endgame I find the content very lacking.. Raids + Strikes + Crucible. That is basically all the game is. Crucible needs at least a 5v5 and the ability to choose a mode rather than randomly getting thrown into a mode... All strikes can be completed within half a day which really gives it little to no replay value unless you want tokens which isn't that hard to do. However, raids are great. The satisfaction of beating a raid through communication is rewarding. So now once a player does all of these things it just becomes a matter of repeating itself until the character is maxed out. After that what am I really playing for? Crucible? Iron banner? Then what? It just becomes a waiting game for the DLCs... Another issue is the amount of patching issues I encounter trying to even play this game. I constantly get stuck at either "Finalizing..." or "1.04 Gb's Remaining..." The latest hotfix did more damage than fix. So I have to REINSTALL the game which is about 40 Gbs but even then I'm not guaranteed it will work? How were these errors so poorly looked over? Destiny 1 had similar issues when it first launched, but it was still well perceived due to the originality of the game. Destiny 2 having issues is understandable, but now you've set the standard with the first game, do you really think making a mirror copy of the first game, removing 6v6 Crucible instead of making it a separate game mode, and going through the same DLC process as the first Destiny will sit well with gamers? Because the only difference I feel between Destiny 1 and Destiny 2, is the story. I have played the first Destiny, maxed out a character but I did not purchase any of the DLCs, so pardon my ignorance. The only reason I did not purchase it was the fact that I did not want to spend extra money for content that I feel should've already been in the game. It almost feels like someone at Bungie is holding content for ransom and is just milking it out. I feel the same fate for Destiny 2. I want to love the game, but all I see are reasons to not love it.

I agree with most of this except for the holding back content comment. You expected 3 years of content at launch in 2014 for $60? That’s pretty ignorant. Good post up until that dumb comment
Because the only difference I feel between Destiny 1 and Destiny 2, is the story.
Honestly alot was better in d1 ttk.... so i think you gave them credit by saying that. They introduced a story and broke everything in return. Story that i might also add is not that impressive to be worth that much wreckage. Broke pvp, pve, progression, raid, nightfall and my deepest hate comes from weapon and perks... SPECIALLY PERKS. But they dont care because there are always blind fans buying. Look at what a unified community did to star wars battlefront, brilliant! EA has to fix its shit!
