the micro-transactions in this game do not effect the actual game play at all.. it is all purely cosmetic.
Battlefront was pay to win.. Destiny is pay to look fab.
Big difference.

to a degree they have pushed further and further towards P2W i know it "seems a non-issue" but you can technically pay to get mods in Destiny 2 mods increase power, and paying allows you to get them faster than a non-payer, and, when done at a new expansion (such as vanilla, osiris, rasputin) this would allow you to be stronger, faster, because mods also curve your light level earning (when not maxed out) again, pathetically an example, but still P2W technically (at times)

pay to win actually implies winning, mods dont really give you any advantage. it just shaves of a minor amount of grind time.
-
Mods barley do anything in terms of increasing power or winning Mods grant a total of 5 light levels Reduced recoil( not that much) Some armor and recovery Which all can be gotten with glimmer also Which comes easy in this game Also bright engrams give you this loot for free also And at a decent pace

Battlefront also looks fun so we still have a big difference.
