8 RepliesEdited by OldboyVicious: 11/9/2017 12:54:20 AMI always though this was a really good question. When we say "I am" what do we mean by "I"? Most people think in terms of "I am a person, I have a body, I have a brain. . . " As opposed to "I am a person, I am a body, I am a brain. . . " So if the "I" in "I am" does not include the physical parts we have which make up our physical being, then what are we referring to when we say "I"? It's a semantic, sure, but it's an interesting tell on how we instinctively view ourselves as being something other than merely physical. Do we think of ourselves as a consciousness that inhabits a body? Do we think of ourselves as an outsider to our physical being that merely controls it's actions in the world?
