Yes i have cheat engine on my PC to tinker with games
We do not ban players for simply having cheat tools installed, but do ban for running them while playing Destiny 2. We do not differentiate between cheat tools for Destiny 2 and cheat tools for other games because it would be easy to avoid a ban by making a Destiny 2 cheat tool that pretends to be a cheat tool for another game. Make sure you turn all cheat tools off before running Destiny 2 and you won’t have to worry about bans. No one is being banned for third-party applications that try to inject overlays like Discord, XSplit, OBS, RTSS, Shadowplay, etc.

  • Would you ban me if I modded minecraft with lighting mods ? If you would I'd like a refund on my £23,000+ if spent on your games and the 6 years back that I wasted.

  • After 7 months of playing Destiny 2, farming, grinding. Enjoying, making new friends, spending time and energy, paying for DLC's and etc. i got Banned. Why? Ask Dear Bungie! Its nothing new and weird. I Joined Bungie on Feb 18, 2020, for 190 days, playing 1500 hours of Destiny 2, and i'm a fan of story line and PvE, bounty hunting, and playing raid with my friends, and farming new guns and armors.. however i'm not a fan of PvP mode in this game, like gambit or crucible, except for finishing quests that are not really enjoyable for me. or maybe a lot of us. Like getting 7 wins on trials for the new solstice leg armor. i just played 5 rounds in Trials in this 7 months!!! I don't know how they name it anti-cheat or term of policy, code of conduct or whatever they call it. I call it injustice, unfair judgment, disrespect to customers, fans, players,Last week i was playing a story mission on the moon. to complete the catalyst the WITHERHOARD. one of my friends sent me a file that's included a file name AHK or something like that on Telegram messenger. my auto download privacy is on for my contact list. these files were downloaded to my PC when i'm at destiny 2, and playing the story mission.. i'm back to desktop (alt+tab), i saw these files and ask from him whats that, and back in game, suddenly, i'm kicked out to the first screen and I got "not so fast", and my account got banned..!! Ask Bungie. I was shocked for a moment about what happened... then i closed the game and I run the game again. and it was the same. I read the help forum, I found the Banned appeal form.. it said :Be honest if you were violating any of the terms laid out in our Account Restriction and Banning Policies. Explain exactly how you violated the policy, including any cheat software you were using. I fill the form honestly. and sent it .. after 10 days I got no response! Hey Dear Bungie, i'm not a fan of PvP mode, i'm not a cheater, or network manipulator, i'm just a new amateur player who played Destiny 2 cause i lost my job for covid-19. And quarantined at home. I'm just your player from a 3rd world country, with a dictator government, paid high a price for censored internet with low speed, under hard sanctions. I'm not a cheater or someone with a plan to go for running codes or apps that sabotage your developments.. im just playing story line and some solo activities.. am i so stupid to run a PvP cheat on PvE solo missions after 7 months? You said be honest, I have honestly told what happened and no response. No answer.. why i'm banned? Lots of video's on YouTube shows cheaters in PvP freely playing without any action, then my accounts banned under 5 minutes because of what? Some files that my stupid friends sent me and i never ever know whats that? On solo missions? Please go and see my game history : https://www.bungie.net/en/Profile/GameHistory/254/24847002 see how much i'm playing PvP and I win or top player on the list or playing trials with lots of kill and victory.. its not fair, its not justice its not anti-cheat with manual review or high learned elite team,i paid to play, i spent time and money to forget what's happening in this shitty world , never to disrupt people or using cheats in my all these years, without no warning, Bungie banned my accounts for lifetime? I have 10 year's steam account, my Steam is F****up now for this nice wrong Dev Ban. Our Clan-Motto is Anti-Cheat and its the first in-game banned record is destiny 2 in my steam account, Realllly? its not really fair dear Bungie,You call it customer service? You call it fair play? Or justice? beside the moderate of the forums told me go and make a new accounts. Im really sad because i lose my money, time, friends, and story line. Respect us, you really not putting any difference between real cheaters, hackers, and a goofy amateur player that really don't know what files or app not friendly or compatible with Destiny 2? See my game history and activities. PvP timed played, win and lost, k/d, its not fair.. give me a second chance! i charged my wallet to pre-order beyond light, and really enjoyed this game and stories. But with this disrespectful and no contact or costumer support, i'm glad that I didn't buy the new DLC, because Bungie banned me!! Please fix my account and review my Banned Account, overturned or someone gimme a reasonable answer, Honestly? Not so fast ? Ban appeal? Please Unban my account i'm not a hackers or using cheats.

I totally feel you man. I got banned over 2 weeks ago, and frankly it was my own stupid mistake (I forgot something was running in the background that wasn't supposed to) but after going through the forums and reading a lot posts it seems I'm not getting my account back. It's a real shame, I played since the beta for Destiny 2, have been on Bungie.net for over 3 years, I've had over 4000 plus hours on the game (Battle.net + Steam combined) and I spent a lot of money on Silver as well. All of it gone, and for what? I made a silly mistake, I don't blame Bungie for what happened to me, but regardless, it's gone. I'm mostly angry at myself at this point for not being careful, it was basically the only thing I've played for a long time and it helped me get away from many things and get through bad times and crises. But after going through these posts I understand just how bad Bungie is at customer support, they don't actually care about their community, they just take your money and leave. If only I had someone to talk to and carefully explain what happened to me since I have absolutely nothing to lose, at least I would've had a chance that things might've been different. It really boggles my mind how a company like Bungie even allows themselves to have absolutely Zero customer support: - No live chat with a representative - No support e-mail, only a 'Contact Us' form that they mostly ignore - No contact phone number I won't be able to play Beyond Light unfortunately (I even pre-ordered the Physical Stranger Edition from them and at least I'll still get the statue. I've had my fun with this game, really, but as time goes on I feel more and more distant from the game I once was able to play, and even though I know I can start over with a new account, just the thought of not having all of my characters that I've made 3 years ago and having to get everything I earned all over again (at least the stuff you can still get at this point) makes me not want to play and do it all again. I don't think I'm able to put the time, effort and money into things I've already done. The game itself is great, don't get me wrong, if only Bungie could make their (non-existent) customer support as good as their game.

This whole thread has been a painful read for me. Here's my super long account, in case you are interested. I have been trying to make my case that a ban shouldn't apply (even if it really is about running unauthorized software that gets you flagged). In the end, there's a real practical reason for banning players, and that's to protect the integrity of the game experience for everyone. Everyone caught by this type of banning without posing a legitimate threat to the game experience should not have been banned. Restricted, sure. Punishment is acceptable. But not a full ban. You may also want to take note that even if you/I were to re-engage with Bungie via a new account, if you attribute anything to your previous account, they could consider you "eligible" for a lower threshold for further account restrictions and bans, as a "high-risk player." No part of that nonsense would make me want to invest any amount of serious money or effort into their properties as long as that is held over my head. What on Earth. Overall they are conflating bad actors and people who have made mistakes. Mistakes they can very easily learn from. They are being illogical with their ban process, which, by the way, is not set in stone in their policies, or agreements. It shouldn't even hold up. Cozmo's opinion on this is not enough, IMO. Not until Bungie amends their policies or agreements. Which they have a right to do. So may as well just get it over and done with, so we can all know when or if to cut our losses. I'm so frustrated.

  • I want to start by saying that today i was banned from destiny 2 for no good reason ! I just finished a quick play pvp game and this message appears " This account has been banned. For more information, please go to bungie.net/ban".. i just want to say that i don't use Discort or cheats of any tipe.. or 3'rd party software (i have only Cam software from NZXT installed for water cooling, Legitech gaming software, GPU Tweak II from ASUS for my GTX 1080 ti GPU, ICUE software for my GPU water coolling ).. i was simply banned for no reason !... i'm very upset that BUNGIE ban people like that.. I just spend over 4k euro to buy parts and build my PC just to play in a competitive way ! I buyed my acer x 34p /120 hz monitor to see people faster, to don't have delays and logitech G502 mouse and G910 keyboard,Logitech G933 (7.1 Gaming-Headset). u see where i'm going whit this... Way should i buy all of this? Spend this money and then trow it all away on cheating?.. it makes no sense ! I spend all my free time playing Destiny 2 Competitive and quick match ... and i'm on 2.7 k points in competitive ... Playing Destiny 2 for me it's a way out of the daily stress..I Play Destiny 2 when i woke up for 1h or 2h and drink my coffee before i go to work ! after i come back from work I relax my self playing Destiny 2 again for like 2 h or so.. depends of the time i have ! .. U see i'm a regular guy playing Destiny 2 because I enjoy this game and i will never cheat and throw all this joy away ! This is how i play ! ... like a normal guy. http://https://youtu.be/P2YXjE3cFoI So please review again your ban ! Thank you !

Shouldnt matter what an end user has on their computer. In fact you shouldn't even be able to know. Seems shady. But since you guys insisted on this glorified peer to peer solution, your game has more holes than swiss cheese and the end user has to suffer. Some of the people defending this. Need to wake up. Name a single other popular pc game that is so aggressive towards all the most common pc apps. You can't because other games are secure enough that honest players aren't being spied on and banned.

  • Ever consider some kind of amnesty for people who didn't cheat, but were caught in your web? Like "Oh shit I didn't know having something running would get me banned, I wasn't cheating, my sincere apologies, won't do it again", and restore accounts? Pretty sure that's what happened to me. I ran that shit with a clear conscience because I wasn't cheating (ahem, at Destiny, or any multiplayer game), so it didn't even occur to me that it could get me in trouble. I really like the game, and would be quite pleased if I could play again. Not a cheater, and will literally testify to that in the court of law if it comes down to it. I just wanna shoot ayyliums again :(.

  • it should not by EULA, it should by @Cozmo and it is by @Cozmo. So they break theyr own rules and they don't overturn their mess. Bungie has gone crazy about bans on PC, it's sad they won't see much people playing D2 since their random bans are not answered.

  • I'll repeat it for you since you do not seem to understand: YOU ARE BANNING PEOPLE THAT ARE RUNNING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING OTHER THAN YOUR GAME. YOUR BANS ARE FALSE AND ARE TARGETING INNOCENT PLAYERS. PLAYERS WHO HAVE SPENT MONEY ON YOUR GAME AND ARE NOW SEEING IT TAKEN AWAY FOR NO REASON. THAT'S CRIMINAL BEHAVIOUR. YOU NEED TO LIFT THESE BANS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. GET ON IT, BUNGO!

Cozmo, this is ridiculous. Let me explain why: this is your TOS/EULA/whatever about Account Bans (what we are experiencing):
Using an external program to modify the operation of the Destiny game software, such as: Trainers, mods, cheats, aimbots, or autofire. User mode or kernel debuggers Graphics hacks Sending malicious network traffic to Destiny servers or other Destiny players
You said:
We do not differentiate between cheat tools for Destiny 2 and cheat tools for other games because it would be easy to avoid a ban by making a Destiny 2 cheat tool that pretends to be a cheat tool for another game. Make sure you turn all cheat tools off before running Destiny 2 and you won’t have to worry about bans.
I hope you recognise the gargantuan difference between using and owning. So...YOU violated YOUR OWN Eula... and please, correct me if I'm wrong (no sarcasm here, if I'm wrong correct me, with a civilized debate with emphasis on civilized if possible). edit: I really want that refund now. edit2: orthographic corrections. edit3: removed unnecessary namecalling due to rage as pointed out by DarthZman#6559771 (sorry)

Yes I am and I'll apologise instantly if you find me wrong, but that was a necessity to make my statement clear on how many levels of ignorance they are displaying (and to vent a bit): they violated the Eula, we obviously got caught in the middle, now they are trying to make excuses up to justify what's been done...you are right about the name calling though, but I'm pissed and trying to remain zen in this. Sorry, I'll remove it right away.

  •
Yes I am and I'll apologise instantly if you find me wrong, but that was a necessity to make my statement clear on how many levels of ignorance they are displaying
I am sorry. I do not feel it is ever necessary to resort to insults and it is not acting civil. You shouldn't insult someone in one sentence then ask for a civil debate in another sentence. If one wants a civil conversation, then one must be civil themselves. As I have said several times, I sympathize with those who truly are innocent of any wrongdoing. I doubt it is as many who claim they are, but only they and Bungie know for sure, so I will not speculate. However, an old saying, "you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar". If people would simply stop being insulting and demanding, it is possible, no matter how small a possibility, someone might listen and respond. I know if someone started at me with insults and demands, I would be less likely to help or communicate with them. Show respect if one wants respect in return. Listen if one wants to be heard in return. I am just saying if you want a civil conversation with Cozmo, maybe be civil to him also and not insult him. Afterall, he didn't personally insult you, right?

  • I agree on some of your points, like how there is a difference between owning software and using software that could be in question. However, don't you think it could be possible that maybe the software had something running in the background on the PC even if not manually launched? Every time patches, updates, etc. is put on PCs, it puts a log into the software that can run at startup. The only way to be sure is to go into the configuration and uncheck the box for the software on startup or boot. I bet if everyone who was PC banned went into their list of stuff running at boot or services running right now, they might see some things running that should not be running because of how software manufacturers build their programs. I am almost always shutting off programs manually that should not be running. Also, just a thought, maybe there was adware/malware that may have been in the background that was trying to communicate out the connection to Bungie servers and that caught the flag. I don't know, just mentioning logical possibilities.

  • I mean, I own cheating software (none for use with destiny, no aimbots, just memory editors and debuggers and some reverse engineering shit), I do not ever cheat at multiplayer games. I did not ever run it at Destiny. But the shit totally could've been running when Destiny was, I was under the impression if you don't cheat you won't get bant. I imagine I'm not even close to the only person in that situation.
