If done correctly, they can be beneficial for both parties. For instance, you release a game with a good amount of content and put a price on certain gear that is cool enough to make you want to buy, but not need to. A cool ghost, your guardian shrouded in lightning, or just any cosmetic.
Then you take the a good portion of the money you generated in those sales to constantly pour content into the game. That would incentivize people to actually want to play for DLC. I don't care about a $15-20 expansion so long as it is worth it.
Your role as a moderator enables you immediately ban this user from messaging (bypassing the report queue) if you select a punishment.
