From the "Known Issues" thread.
• SSSE3 Required: Destiny 2 will not run on processors without Supplemental Streaming SIMD Extensions 3 (SSSE3).
I don't like the way they phrased this. They made it sound intended, and not like it's a bug.
If they come out and say AMD processors can't play this game and won't be able to, I'm going to look into a class-action lawsuit cause that was not information presented until after launch.

blizzard gave me all my money back and informed that the game requirements are a different now than on beta. I smell a class action waiting to happen for bungie changing requirements after taking peoples money and hyping them up on it.

Edited by Skullgirl: 10/24/2017 10:20:21 PMHow would that work for people who bought a physical copy from, say Amazon? Would I have to talk to Amazon and return the disc? I already used the gun code.

It's worth reiterating that this IS listed in the "Known Issues" thread. Meaning it is most likely a bug. My problem is almost entirely in the ambiguous phrasing.
-
they even edited it in after the issue was reported... like "yeah should have known beforehand.... you didn't? Sucks for you" The beta was running smoothly so I thought I don't have to look up the requierments. 90€ I could live for 3 weeks from this amount of money -.-

SSSE3 or does SSE3 still work ?
-
SSE3 will not work as of right now.
-
ssse3 is supplement to sse3... but currently you need both in place for the game to work.
-
is there a way to download this ssse3 or if you have a older processor you cant ?
-
If this is what's causing the crash after selecting your character, then SSE3 does not work. But since it's in the 'known issues' area, I assume they'll get a fix out. Eventually.
-
there are no emulators or any fix to this right at this moment. previously sse4.1 were the issues mostly for other games where intel did have sde that emulates sse4.1 but this is not the case for ssse3.
-
I see. Since you seem somewhat familiar with the subject, do you think we'll ever get a fix or would it be better to just get a new CPU with support for SSSE3?
-
someone else in the forum who seemed familiar with coding seemed to state that editing hex code can fix it or bypass ssse3 check. I do not know anything about coding but from that comment I assume they may be able to come up with a hotfix.
