If it helps, they updated their known issues list
-EMERGENT ISSUES-
• Fullscreen on Laptops: Fullscreen mode is unable to be selected on some laptops. Affected players may use Windowed Fullscreen mode to work around this issue.
• SSSE3 Required: Destiny 2 will not run on processors without Supplemental Streaming SIMD Extensions 3 (SSSE3).
• TRUMPET Errors: Players who are encountering TRUMPET errors on PC may attempt to work around this issue by changing Blizzard Region. We are investigating.
So they know Phenom cpu's aren't working for now
*Edit* Support has posted a response 2 hours after launch and have updated their emergent issues with 3 different problems people have been having, so we can at least know that they notice. Other games this year have had this same issue with older AMD cpu architecture and all of them were fixed with varying time frames (MGSV, RE7, Hellblade: Sensua's Sacrifice) Just need to wait on the live team to fix the issues.
*Edit2* Support has added another 2 known issues to the list
• Clan Roster: We are aware of player reports describing the Clan Roster not appearing in Destiny 2 on PC. We are investigating this issue.
• CONTINUOUS SIGN-ON We are actively investigating reports of players blocked from signing in to Destiny 2.
So there is some sort of movement going on, all we can do is wait until they fix them, one by one more than likely. On the other hand, even if our issue was fixed, we'd have to deal with all the other ones.
*Edit 3: The Reckoning* Support update
PLEASE NOTE: We’ve seen a number of reports of crashes on CPUs that fall below our stated minimum specs (E.G. AMD Phenom II series). We are investigating the issue and will attempt to fix the crash, but these CPUs are below minimum spec and are not officially supported.
Hijacking my own comment just to say this, i'm the first guy to give the benefit of the doubt, if anyone has seen my other comments im sure it's obvious. But this is a garbage excuse from a AAA dev going for a worldwide release. Look at ANY recently successful PC games, you know what they have in common? They can be running on a potato plugged into an outlet and at the very least get IN GAME. We were better off being told only that Bungie would try to fix it or BEING TOLD BEFORE WE BOUGHT IT THAT A CETAIN SET OF CPU'S ARE INCOMPATIBLE, but saying it's our fault that we're using an older cpu? Unacceptable and unprofessional in the PC market, honestly. I'll be holding off on a refund for another day at the most, but if we cant get something like a progress report, time table, reasoning why the beta worked but the full release doesn't, or some kind of transparency, i'm more than sure a decent amount of people will be getting their money back.

So wait and see at this point, and going off games that have had this same issue, we're looking at around a week. =(

issac who was that guy you talked to? so its confirm our phenom cpu's does meet the minimium like it worked fine in the beta. so they are really patching this. so thats a good sign
-
Not myself, but another user on this forum spoke to a mod on the Tech support discord and posted a few responses from their conversation.
-
The problem is the game ran fine in open beta. They got our money. Then they made it so AMD phenoms couldn't play by adding in "Destiny 2 will not run on processors without Supplemental Streaming SIMD Extensions 3 (SSSE3)". The game ran fine with out this and all they need to do is ad the AMD version SSE3. This is classic court case bait and switch. I'm sure a class action will result if they don't do whats right. It's millions of dollars....

My Intel i7-7700k is having the same problems. Running on a GTX 1080Ti, non stop crashes and artifacting. Game is so unstable its not even funny.
-
???? What the hell? I have a processor with SIMD 3 support (SSSE3). But I have the same problem. They still do not know what the problem is. And apparently not soon they will understand.
-
it may be sse3 not ssse3 it's different instruction.
-
Yes it seems. The one who disseminates this information has not indicated. I did not notice the extra E. But it does not matter. The developer then had to add this code to the beta. Beta worked without him. And We waited -blam!-ing almost 2 months to find out. Great job!
-
It does not help. We already spent money on it 6 months ago.
-
it's somehow funny (and sad) that they updates the known issues list AFTER People stated their Issue. We all know that so called Betas these days are just "a thing" to push preoders. I doubt that they had any troubles or bugs related to SSE-Support. WW2, RE7 now D2... It's time for a CPU-Upgrade. Even if it doesn't make any sense :(
-
You can hex edit this and make the program believe you have a SSSE3 and it works fine. It is not that you need an upgrade. Do the math.
-
Any description how to do that? HEX edit is not my kinda tea but I'm in when this is just a pointless "SSE-check" that doesnt make sense
-
let's hope they fix it as soon as possible. I want to play = (

Edited by Guts: 10/24/2017 6:48:01 PMPhenom support SSSE 3
-
phenom has sse3 and they want supplemental sse3. The game is well coded and truthfully doesnt need ssse3. Not even sure if it uses any 128 mx instruections to tell you the truth, so its kinda "weird".

where is this posted?

They can fix it, it worked in the beta so why the hell can they not do it now?
-
Not sure, i do agree though. They kinda dropped the ball on this one for us, and with it being launch day for PC, i think they have their hands full literally everything else going on. Guess it's just a wait and see approach for now. I've cross linked this post all over for visibility, and honestly at this point, any kind of plain-english response from support would be a good start.
-
I really hope so, lets be positive; they may be quite because they're just about to announce a patch super-soon and it'll all be okay! .... I can dream can't i? =^.^=

I hope so dude, I hope so...
