Keeps crashing

When i start the game, select my character and log in it takes me to a black load screen. The symbol in the corner changes shape once and then it freezes. A window pops up saying the game has stopped working. Currently unable to play the game. [The game ran perfectly fine during beta] Edit: Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T GPU: AMD Radeon HD6900 Ram: 8GB EditEdit: Seems like AMD Phenom CPUs are the problem. Hopefully we'll hear from Bungie soon. If not I am going to try to get a refund. I only bought this game because i was able to run the beta.

      • Another Phenom II owner reporting in. I watched the intro scene and upon attempting to load my character for the first time, it crashed. So, cool. An entire class of processors is unsupported, which can otherwise play any current game. I don't want a refund. I want the game I bought to work. It's not like I'm trying to play with a single core.

          My game keeps crashing randomly. I can actually play a little and get passed the login screen just fine, but it crashes each time after playing the game for a while. Sometimes it happens after 5 minutes, sometimes after an hour. I happens on every activity, from adventures to pvp. I've tried to repair my install, tried to reinstall the game completely, tried to lower my settings, I double checked if I had all the latest drivers and updates. Nothing seems to work. Processor: i7-7800X 3500 GPU: GTX 1080TI 11GB GPU Driver: 388.00 Ram: 32GB Running Windows 10 64-bit (Version 1709)

            Response from @Kellogs, a mod here on the forums -I can’t say I’m sorry. All public information is what is what is in that linked thread. It will be updated when more information becomes available. Stay tuned to the TWAB as well.- So no real info maybe until Thursday, not what we wanted to hear, but whatever, another non-answer because they dont have one. A refund is the easier option at this point, and the longer you wait, the more likely that you'll be denied a refund. On a last thought, it's not just that bungie messed up, it's that the PC port was done by Vicarious Visions. Ergo, Vicarious Visions makes a garbage-tier port on launch with random bans, The SSSE bug, Trumpet error, (i can go on, no really, but my comments starting to look more like a thesis at this point...) and now they have to clean up this horrible pile of code to let some of us past the title screen only to be harassed by an onslaught of all the other bugs with a chance of being banned with no chance for appeal or transparency of any kind. But what do we know, we're just the end user who expect way too much, like the product we paid for to actually have a semblance of functionality, kinda like in the beta /s. So now we wait, while the team is pretty much silent on all outlets save for some non-answers to placate us, because according to them, we are "toxic". Oh well, either wait a week to a month, or refund. Up to you really. Started in the morning at 10am hyped up for a game I've been playing since the D1 beta, now im ending at 1am frustrated that a company thinks that silence fosters customer satisfaction. Im not flaming and im not toxic, im just tired and i've been excited all month for no reason i guess.

            • From what I've gathered, we all have similar range amd cpus and gpus which should be fine cause we all played the beta, but alas Bungie screwed something up in a newer build of the game.

                  • Get your refund. If a few thousand unhappy customers demand refunds you bet your ass a money hungry corporation will pay attention. There is no reason it shouldn't run on release if it ran in the last beta build. You can always re-purchase if they patch it. It's either intentional or pure carelessness. There is no excuse for limiting a customer needlessly. SSE3 vs SSSE3 changes virtually nothing.

                      Just so you all know, Resident Evil 7 had this issue and took from January 24(release) till February 7 to fix it. Dishonored 2 had this issue and took from November 11(Release) to December 19 to fix it. Metal Gear Solid V had this issue and took from September 1(Release) to September 3 to fix it, however that is an anomaly because for that game the problem was caused by a third party issue. However the issue with all of these was SSE4.1 not SSSE3 which is a newer version of the problem that may take longer to fix, not be worth fixing(to Bungie) or be impossible to fix. If you are not alright with potentially waiting a month to see if Bungie fixes the problem(and note that they don't have much history with PC coding) then I suggest you get a refund and purchase later. I for one will attempt to get a refund because my friends will have finished up most content by the longer end of these predictions and I don't really want to play the game alone.

                      • They added this to emergence issues: PLEASE NOTE: We’ve seen a number of reports of crashes on CPUs that fall below our stated minimum specs (E.G. AMD Phenom II series). We are investigating the issue and will attempt to fix the crash, but these CPUs are below minimum spec and are not officially supported. I love this because my AMD Phenom II x6 1100T is more powerful than the minimum AMD FX-4350 4.2 GHz. Please Bungie, tell me how my CPU is below the minimum......

                          They couldn't even fix the a certain bugged prestige nightfall after a month and then put it back into rotation. (Even though it couldn't be completed)..... I wouldn't get your hopes up guys but goodluck. I suggest getting your money back in hopes that it causes bungie to change the way they deal with these issues. The leave them in the dark and give them a generic response with no time frame method isn't great.

                          this is making me really sad, i loved beta, it was such a fun game, but i dont understand why they had a beta if they ended up changing system requirements? the game is already 90+, im not spending another 300 dollars for a good processor and I doubt others will too. yall had plenty of time to find a fix for this before it hit launch, very disappointing
