Why is actual critique being labeled as "butthurt"?

(i do NOT encourage posts like "why luke smith should kill himself", i am talking about posts like "destiny 2 sucks, because" or "destiny 2 is boring, because") With the huge uproar about the shallow, good looking piece of crap (Destiny 2), many people feel the need to shove their "mature attitude" in everyones face by calling the honest playerbase tryhards, butthurt or immature. If you are one such, please stop because people are trying to improve the game they spent 100 bucks on. And don't come with "at least post constructive criticism", the same constructive criticism has been posted hundreds of times, people finally want to know they are being heard by the devs.(do you really think there would be so many hate posts if bungie would just come out straight and say they acknowledge what's REALLY wrong with the game and they are working on fixing it?)

  • Kids these days can't even begin to understand the actual meaning of being butthurt. Fortunately, if they act anything like they do in real life as they do online, and if they are unfortunate enough to be sent to an American prison, they get to have a crash course in it pretty quickly...
did you know? Because of the prison system in America, its the only country where more men are -blam!- then women?
• Because every drop of criticism brings out the narcs who love to snoop profiles regardless if the valid or not. It's about as bad as the opposite side being called fanboys. It's pretty hard to imagine anyone being a fanboy of D2 to be honest.

    • 5 ways to get me to call you butthurt: 1. Destiny 2 sucks! 2. We hate Destiny! 3. Bungie doesn't care! 4. Destiny 2 is crap! 5. Fire Luke Smith! Constructive criticism is fine, I've dropped a boatload. But potty mouthing, insults, and demands that someone be fired is nonproductive, and will get only contempt.

To be fair. 90% of the threads criticising the game are either riding the bandwagon and desperately fishing for likes, or regurgitating the same arguments we've heard since launch. Hell, even the trolls are no longer fishing with an unpopular opinion. The forum has become nothing more than a circle-jerk for the "D2 Sucks" club. It has become more about validation than actual criticism. We know the game is disappointing. We know why, and we've known since launch. At this point, posting a 3000 word observation detailing balance-overkill, endgame-absence, and moot-loot is redundant. We know. You know that we know, but instead of replying to, or even simply upvoting one of the hundred other feedback threads, you post a brand new one outlining the exact same problems that have been defined over and over again as if they're somehow clearer now that you've listed them. No one cares about your carbon-copied critique. You're beating a dead horse. Irony: Posting a lazy, reskinned argument detailing how Bungie have lazily added reskinned items to D2.

          • It’s because critique it supposed to include your bias or opinion. And saying bungie sucks and the reason why your out of content ( Most likely because they created the game for people to play it 2 hours a day or so, not 10-12) is not critique.

Actual critique typically follows a more objective and critical assessment of something. It doesn't let subjectivity and personal bias influence or affect the discussion, either positive or negatively. Proper constructive feedback is meant to not only highlight specific points of reference but also, in the case of flaws or issues, to provide potential solutions to solve anything that may be brought up. It's in the term itself "constructive feedback", as in it is designed to build on what already exists, not to tear it down.

          • The difference is that people can act civil with constructive criticism and not act like the devs ruined their lives.

          • People complained about not knowing when revisions would happen and they tell you and you still complain. Nothing constructive about it. Not only that but there are times where people feel that their suggestion must be followed otherwise people aren’t listening. What if it’s an opposing suggestion that was a better idea. A lot of arm-chair devs who have so many issues yet have no resolutions outside of the blatantly obvious that I highly doubt people who are paid to do the job wouldn’t notice over a 16 year old with a keyboard and way too much time on their hands.

            • Not hard to figure out. Look at how you started your post. The rest of it also contains no points. Just conjecture about the community and company. None of that is constructive criticism. That’s how most of the posts people make go. You sound butthurt lol

              •
do you really think there would be so many hate posts if bungie would just come out straight and say they acknowledge what's REALLY wrong with the game and they are working on fixing it?
But they have. This is from the TWAB weeks ago:
One thing we have noticed is a lot of discussions about the Endgame and how it can be improved. Right now, these discussions are also happening in our studio. We are listening, but need time to digest everything and draw up the best plans for the future. We will have more to say on this soon. Please stay tuned, and keep the conversation rolling.
They’ve acknowledged people don’t like the endgame. They’ve told us they are currently deciding within the company what they are going to do about it and they’ve said they will tell us more later, I’m assuming when they’ve figured exactly what they need to do. What more don’t you want? Access to meetings minutes? A personal line to Luke Smiths office? They aren’t going to tell us anything until they’ve figured it out themselves. You people think just because you spent $60 on a video game you’re entitled to be a part of the development process? That you’re entitled to daily updates from the dev team and a say in the decision making process? Gamers today.

                • People only look for things that fit their agenda, furthermore that is exactly why the industry has gone to shit cause people can't let their personal view out of the way to actually look at things in an objective manner. "Mass effect Andromeda is a good game" 😤 explain the low sales and the studio that got shut down then. "Halo 5 is a good game" 😡 explain the lowest sales since the very first game 16 years ago. "Destiny 2 is a good game" 😂 explain the dropping player base by the millions in just a month and a half a time and less sales than the first. It's one thing to personally like the game, but it's asinine of gamers to ignore looking at certain aspects in an objective way if they're going to debate the game. "CoD is a shit copy and paste franchise" hmm, tends to always lead #1 for console sales, furthermore go to their own forums and see the copy and paste really isn't the issue. The issue is more of people getting burned out on a futuristic approach (why WW2 is happening plus battlefield 1 showed it works) and their ever going progress on microTs and never upgrading engines and low quality campaigns. "Player unknown battlegrounds is shit" happens to be the most played game in the world right now AND it's only on pc so far, imagine them numbers once it hits console. Furthermore it's one of the few battle Royale games out there and because there's so few, it can capitalize off improving in that aspect and giving an experience no other games do, makes me wish the rest of the Industry would the same. "Rain bow six siege is a CoD ripoff" 😭 crying over that stupidity. RB6S is another game that has over a million plus in players and it too is growing. Now what separates the two twitch shooters between CoD and siege? One is purely a run and gun shooter that rewards you with kill streak rewards to kill people even more, the other is a much slower paced tactical shooter where you strategize a point of attack on an objective building with the other team defending, barricading and placing traps. It also gives you one life per round so mistakes are costly where as CoD gives you a whole game to come right back. They're not very comparable to me besides being twitch shooters. One of the best ways to gauge a game is by it's own success. How well does it sell, how many play it, how long does the player retention hold up over time, how many buy into the DLC/expansions, how does it sell compared to its predecessor? Etc etc. that can give you the general audiences view, if it sells less, odds are people didn't like the first and didn't bother with the sequel. If the player retention drops, the game has no replay value to it to keep people coming back, if the DLC sells considerably less, odds are the base game first impression wasn't that great. As for my thoughts on destiny 2? It's a shit game just like D1 was. They still have no clue on a progression system, they took more player choice away in D2, the pvp still needs more modes, they're running out of weapon and armor ideas and have resulted to copy and pasting them, even for the special events, there's still no dedicated servers, nothing new to the character creator, streamlined the skill trees and disorganized them, still no in game lore, still had a bad story, took away the progression D1 did and restarted all over to nothing here, I could go on and on. Destiny is just a wasted franchise that had potential to me and one that ruined the name "Bungie" as these people are unrecognizable to me. I bought into D2 Only cause Bungie was known for improving game by game in the past and that Destiny 1 was their first game in 6? 7 years so I figured "maybe they'll have it down with D2 after experimenting with D1 and getting all the feedback". I was wrong, and now I've moved onto different games. I only play when friends ask, and they rarely do knowing I dislike the game. I also sit on the forums for 2 reasons. 1. I simply like to debate and talk to people and 2. Give my own feedback on things, odds are D3 won't be a thing for me, but maybe some of the feedback I give that gets mentioned by thousands of others gets to Bungie and they act on it. The things is if I were a "troll" or someone looking to waste people's time, I wouldn't be here using my own free time doing this when I could be doing something else. I'm here merely cause I like it, not to piss people off or to shit talk (I will if you shit talk me however).

                  • Because the fact that not everyone blindly loves D2 hurts their little feelings. They are butthurt that you don't love what they love. Most of them have one character at 260 anyway,so they haven't played enough to see the huge gaping hole that is the "endgame".

                    • Watch these two Old Demos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIp7vZuYzoA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTfhrONAp-c (Go to about 2:00) When Destiny was first being shown off we were promised a Large Shared World Shooter RPG. That was "Ancient Fantasy" + "Hard Science Fiction". That is what it was initially advertised as and what Year 3 D1 was shaping up to be. The problem is that Destiny 2 has taken the franchise into becoming a game that I simply did not want. We got a standard FPS Skill based shooter with PvP set as end-game. It is trying to use the Halo formula to satisfy the competitive shooters. That design choice does not work with Loot based games. You're fighting against human players in the Crucible and you're fighting an army of drones in PvE. What makes PvE fun is being a powerful badass what makes the Crucible fun is the competition and proving your better against a real person with access to the same weapons abilities. They're not the same and should not be balanced as such. It is trying to be a jack of all trades but consequently making it a master of none. There are games that do what Destiny does, and better. Making it a competitive PvP is the opposite of what Destiny was supposed to be and shaping up to be by Year 3. This feels like a betrayal to the people who stuck around and supported Destiny. Bungie should stop trying to make it Halo when that is a completely different formula. PvP does not work as a core aspect in Destiny. They took what could have been an amazing RPG and made it a simple shooter. It discourages the fans who made the first game successful. The critique is obvious. People aren't happy because Bungie is leaning towards making a standard shooter rather than deliver on the Epic RPG that was promised. Plenty of other online "service" games have loads of content for players to do before they think about content updates and DLCs. Look at games like Borderlands, Diablo, WoW, Elder Scrolls Online, etc. Loads of stuff to do. Sure it is comparable to a standard shooter but Destiny was supposed to be anything but that . It is clear that the developers needed more time to deliver the game's scope and depth that they originally intended to make. Destiny is made by AAA developers, supported by AAA publishers, and is sold as a $60 game. They already have the money and support they need to make a complete product. The fact that it is not a complete game at launch, and is in reality an incomplete foundation that relies on content updates as well as paid DLCs to add things that should have been in the game in the first place, is unacceptable.

                        • Straight up, if I wasn't going to give you what you want when you were being nice, I'm sure as the hell not going to do it when you're being a douche. I don't understand the logic: talking calmly and rationally, literally the best way to get someone to listen to you, didn't work. Maybe if I make myself more negative, more salty, and less reasonable, it'll work better! It's the same concept as asking your boss for a raise nicely, and if he says not, refusing to leave his office and calling him bad at his job, and expecting that to end well. I mean, everyone has the right to their own opinions and feelings about the game, but exactly what do you hope to accomplish by being less agreeable and reasonable with the only people who can actually fix the issue? It might feel good, but it just doesn't make sense.

There is a huge difference from constructive feed back and bitching like a little kid. Most of the posts and comments are not feed back but bitching and crying from an entitled position. Your post is a prime example of non constructive criticism. Also if you bothered to keep up to date you would know they are listening and are addressing many of our concerns.
