Tonight I decided to step into the Leviathan raid for the first time, hoping to lose my raid virginity. I posted on LFG stating that I was indeed a raid virgin, wasn't expecting a lot of invites coming my way. Just wanted to see if there's any good people willing to help out a beginner.
Eventually I got a party invite. To my surprise, the group members were first timers too! So immediately we had a connection. Of course we're not super blind of the raid as we knew the encounters for the most part. It was just the execution that was missing.
We got through the Gauntlet relatively ok; we had a few wipes here and there because of some mishaps. We even wiped at the very last second where we deposited the Psionic Charge after running the Gauntlet. To our surprise it counted and we got our key! It was funny that it happened. And then we came to the dreaded Pleasure Gardens.
Honestly, I wanted to leave the group when we were stuck in the Pleasure Gardens for a couple hours. We were so tired and kept getting frustrated whenever someone gets caught. Our highest multiplier was x43! However we persevered and managed to defeat it. The sounds of relief we made were glorious. It was truly amazing.
When we got to the Baths, almost everyone didn't know what to do. I had the basic idea of what to do, so I explained it like relating it to the Totems of King's Fall. After a few wipes, we finished it with ease. They even said that the Baths was the easiest part of the raid, which it is.
So after four or five hours, we got to Calus's door. At this point we were tired, exhausted, and definitely not willing to listen to how the mechanics worked. So we decided to just call it from there and leave.
In the end, I'm still a raid virgin. But I've found something that I haven't discovered in a long time: fun. I actually had fun playing with a bunch of dudes, laughing all the way through. We exchanged friend requests and went our separate ways. I for one will never forget this Destiny 2 moment.
Edit: I got a group to finish my Calus checkpoint and we beat it on our second try! Now I can raid with the big boys!

Seems to be the main sales pitch for the new CoD game as well, coincidence?
-
I actually met a good friend from Destiny 2. That doesnt excuse the lack of content tho
-
Friendship, the ultimate endgame experience.
-
The thing is, you can have friendships in other games! Games with an actual reason to play them. If the prestige raid doesn’t give any worthwhile rewards, not nearly as many people will want to do it. Therefore, a lot less friendships will be made on prestige mode, because not as many people are playing it. In order for a piece of content to be successful, there needs to be a tangible in-game reason to play it.

sadly "friendship" wont last, we are over 30 in my clan, and I cant get 3 for the nightfall.
-
Yeah this game and friendship both sucks

Congrats dude, and you'll get calus soon enough. I kind of had the same experience except I was the only new guy and went through the "dreaded guided games" both times the guides were great they don't slam me when I screwed up (and on calus I screwed up quite a few times trying to find my place there) the first group we didn't get to finish and the second group on guided games we got all the way through and the other players were great and even though I had the concept literally went over everyone's role we all knew who was where to pick a guy up if we slipped so we would always have a guy close so that if another player got downed we had a revive next to them. Easily the most fun I had in the game so far. I would run that going let alone hours a day if I could I just loved the encounter. And to be honest you're probably WAY ahead of me. I in an oddly unfortunate way blazed through the gardens with the guides so while you have a general idea of the patterns and where to head, I literally only know to stay glued to the guy in front of me and when we get spotted or run out run to my assigned dog and unload. You thankfully probably have some built in muscle memory for where they are heading now. Have fun with calus, he sounds way more complicated than he is. Good luck

Sound like some shit from my little pony
-
I didn't pay to become friends with people ......
-
Similar story in the first week. Now the players i met dont play. My clan i joined folded too. Stuck with lfg players who are mostly shit at the game
-
Stuff that; communication is overrated #KeepItAntiSocial
-
“Yea this game sucks” #FreeDabest
-
Calus is probably the easiest part of the raid imo, so hopefully you can get it done soon!
-
It is so very wonderful that the magic of friendship brought you many hours of fun and laughter.
-
And that's what it's all about! I had similar time to you on dogs by the sound of it. So satisfying when it finally clicks into place. I love raiding. Those 1st completions are the best.

Wait till u try the prestige bath house. Utter mayhem. Litterally running for your life lol. Hardest part im having trouble on. Its fun tho. Easiest mechanics. Hardest to execute.
