Age Restriction/Parental Control
Purchased a copy of Destiny 2 for my nephew to play with myself and his father online.
Purchased him a 12 month membership so he could play the game with us.
Only to find after we bought the game,opened the packaging and downloaded the update that in the booklet in small wording we needed to go to a link and read some T&C’s you need to be 13 years old with parental approval (he is 11 and obviously has parental approval).
So after his delight of receiving a PS4 for his birthday and the copious amounts of money spent we know have a shattered 11 year old boy unable to play a game with his Dad and Uncle.
Might want to look into putting something on the back of your box in terms of age restrictions.

I also have this issue. I have been with destiny since year 1 and am perfectly fine with the children playing it. I spoke with sony after trying to change parental controls for them. They said the developer has an age restriction and there is no way around it unless you make a new account. If the parents are fine with them playing it, it shouldn't be an issue. They can adjust what they do not want the children having access to via the psn parental controls.

3 RepliesI am not sure what console you are on, but on the PS4 I am able to manage my children's sub accounts and choose what content they are able to play. Two of them are younger than 11. I believe this is really more a console issue than bungie so it may help to log into your account and see what content restrictions are in place for the child's account.

Also, it's recommended that children be at least __ old based on the rating, but is ultimately up to the parent/guardian to decide what the child can and cannot play. Why is the child upset and the adults disappointed? Are the adults disappointed because they had a change of heart and decided to let the rating board decide for them that their child cannot play the game, and is the child upset because the adults are being overly cautious? This is something the adults and child need to discuss with each other, especially if the one that purchased the game didn't even notice the big sticker on the front that's there specifically for instances such as this. There's nothing Bungie can do to help you in this instance, this is a family and personal issue. You should have made him 13 when you made the account (PSN or Xbox live). Make him a new account, deactivate the console from his old account and link it (console) to his new teenager account and get a new copy of d2 or if you bought a physical copy use that.

4 RepliesDestiny 2 has an ESRB rating of Teen, which is on the box. If you looked up the rating, you’ll find that it indicates ages 13 and up.
