My guess on weapons of light being removed is because they gave warlock damage rift and then gave titans instant reload barricade. I'd guess they wanted to avoid double stacking the damage buffs, and then combine that with instant reload barricade, for a crazy damage boost that would be hard to balance without hurting solo or small party use. For example, 1 phasing calus would be stupidly easy for 3 titan 3 warlock if the buffs stacked and they all ran rally. You could probably 1 to 2 plate the phase lol.

  • My guess it that if weapons of light was still a thing, it wouldn't even work on Calus. Nighstalkers Tether doesn't increase damage dealt against Calus.

  • Think Crota. He couldn't be debuffed by things like Tether or smoke, but Weapons of Light still worked because it buffed your character rather than affecting Crota himself.

  • True, but I feel the reason that was the case was because Tether came out a little while after Crota was brought into the game. I guess Bungie might not have thought about making the change.
