The Real problem and the Real Solution

The Weapon balance we need is not by nerfing or buffing specific weapons. The biggest priority here is to first balance each weapon type. We have Scouts, Pulse rifles, Hand Cannons, Autos, sidearms, and subs. The order I have listed these weapons should be the general order from the longest range to the shortest range. The flinchimg behavior for these weapons should behave the same way as the damage fall off. Scouts should dominate all other weapon types at scout range, being able to dish out more damage per second and more flinch at its optimal range. Pulses should dominate everything else at pulse range. That doesn't mean that another shorter ranged weaopon cant out play a higher one. It just means that a weaopn in its optimal range can dish out the mpst damage per second against a longer or shorter range weapon. Notice how I placed hand cannons before autos and side arms before subs. This is because automatic weapons are very forgiving and easier to use. However in order to make this even, side arms like last hope shouldn't be able to easily beat smgs. Smgs need to dominate side arms when in smg range. Flinching needs to be reduced all around. This includes the flinch for high caliber rounds as well. Also currently, when under fire your actual aiming reticle in the middle of your screen will bounce around up and down and to the sides. If you get shot 1st you cant shoot back until the other guy chokes some shots and misses. This should not be the case. Players should not have to depend on the RNG of a bouncing reticle on thier screen to go where they want it to. Instead the reticle needs to remain in the center of your screen at all times. Make the character who is getting shot flinch instead of the aiming reticle. This way players can correct their aim and return fire. By setting each weapon type in its place and fixing the flinch behavior, all weapons in the game besides power weapons will be effected positively thus helping bring dead weapons to life.

  • Uriels Gift is a great example of what happens when an auto rifle can outclass a scout rifle at long range. Im not just saying any scout rifle, I'm saying it will even put the notorious Mida in check.

  • Agreed, as of right now autos overpower other weapons in all ranges besides scout, sidearm and smg. This is why guns like Uriel’s gift are always being used.
