When your best players leave D2 to go back to D1
Man. I like this game a lot. Lots of good things about it. But I have to admit. I’m just not having fun anymore. Two of my best buds, 2.0 k/d, went back to D1 today. Apparently had a hell of a time. Is D2 dead? Or will this be fixed?

Vanilla destiny had it's issues at first yes. After 3 yrs though Bungie worked out all the kinks, and complaints for the most part. To where most were happy. Why didn't they just build D2 off of those mechanics. Why all the crazy changes. Not just that but they made the games for casual Joe, and people that sucked in D1. D2 is too easy in my opinion. Destiny 2 may look better, but Destiny 1 is the better game. For me at least.

3 RepliesIt cant be fixed. d2 was built on a flawed philosophy. D1 could be fixed because the philosophy was generally right - but the game lacked content. Content is easy to add. But to fix D2’s flaws theyll have to rethink their entire philosophy for the game.

Man the other day I loaded up the REAL D2, a much BETTER D2 with gear you have to actually grind for that truly feels POWERFUL. Sure the graphics aren't as good but I had more fun replaying it from scratch than I did the first week of Destiny 2. I speak of course only of....... [spoiler]Diablo 2 LoD[/spoiler]

D1 is so much fun right now. Need to be reminded of what having fun in Destiny feels like? Play D1.

If you don't like D2, there is NO BETTER STATEMENT to make than to play Destiny 1. That way, Bungie not only registers the reduction in D2's player count, but an abnormally high number of people going back to D1. And it might register with them that hey, maybe some of the "improvements" were anything but. I still play D1 during Doubles weeks, because I can get enough special ammo to play the way I did before the 2-14-17 Abomination.

4 RepliesI don't get the argument that this is vanilla destiny 2 and that you cant compare it the end of d1. To me destiny should have been everything that was d1 at the end and new planets added on and new guns and all sorts of other new things to do. Now for those of you that defend this game and say that there's expansions coming I'm going to assume you are hoping, and I also expect, bungie to bring back most of what people are complaining. But think about that for a minute... you paid for a game and got all these features which were then removed. You then paid again for this game only for them to give you back all the features you never wanted removed in an expansion that you have to pay for once again for a 3rd time. Do you understand that? If they add back everything people are complaining about in the next expansion you will have paid three times for the same content!

Honestly - D1 is more fun to play. Just give it a try. I played a bit of it last week and had a blast. Everyone wants to feel "powerful" and you do in D1. You don't in D2.

13 RepliesD2 is heading down a path that can never be undone. Destiny will never be the game I dreamed of. Powerful, fast, skillful, unique with a ton of grind for god weapons and gear. The content to get to legend was just the icing on the cake. I never imagined they would take the best aspects of Destiny out of Destiny. The content with no grind or reward is not enough. Its the icing without the cake!!! No more screaming "I got gjallahorn" "omg! Rangefinder, litc and rifled Luna!!" etc. Those days are gone and so is Destiny! I wanted a refined version of D1 but with new weapons and gear, new planets and enemies, new sub classes and new activities. But I didnt want them to take the core awesoneness that made destiny away.

Yep I play D1 still and enjoy it better. D2 is a flat game.

4 RepliesD1 is just a better game than D2. Plain and simple. It'd be better worth both Bungie's and our time to just scrap D2 and continue to update and add content on D1 instead.

Yeah, not even Destiny 2 is able to kill Destiny. Even though Bunglevision tried hard to make D1 crappier than it could be, they made D2 so crappy that it‘s mindboggling. D1 is so much more fun despite all it‘s flaws...D2 actually feels like Bruce Banner and D1 like the Hulk.

D1 is a trash game. It was only good in year one. Too many changes destroying guns and characters

2 RepliesD2 isn't dead, things will start looking better when new content is added. @Riv3rMon5ters The state of the game at D2 launch is better than the state of the game was for D1 launch. While D2 launch doesn't offer nearly as much as D1 after year 3, it will be a better game after we give it some time to mature.
