It only took 38 packages and a week to get a full armor set for my warlock. Great "loot" system, Bungo. If this was D1, I'd have all 3 characters to rank 5 and fully outfitted.

Sick you didn't get full sets for your other character wait til iron banner comes back so you have something to play for?
-
If this was D1. There would have been no possibility of getting a full set of gear within a single Iron Banner. People's memory is so selective.
-
True, but at least we didn't have to play all -blam!-ing week, hoping RNG would give us what we want. Post game drops we're guaranteed to be above our light level too.

I am not sure what you are talking about. The RNG in Destiny 1 was Crazy. Remember getting a piece of armor once was not equal getting it in a useable state. I remember grinding out Iron Banner to the degree that I believe it iis the one activity I have done the most in Destiny 1, perhaps only beaten by strikes. Usually just to have a chance at a good roll on a couple of weapons. As to the light increase. I agree to some extent. However, Iron Banner was almost required to get over a couple of lulls in progression during year 2. Not so much in Year 3 and considering the amount of light/power increasing rewards they give you in Destiny 2, it is not as necessary. Also keep in mind that once you reach a base power of 300 everything has a chance to drop at your power. Even blues. With that being said, it does make it a bit less exciting. More so the lack of random perks though.

I hear you, but this time around I think i was more focused on getting the full set for my warlock that I didn't even play with my Hunter and Titan. I played with all three characters in iron banner year 1. I didn't get the Hemet for my Warlock so when Iron Banner rolls around again I hope I don't grind all week for the Helmet... sigh.......

I get the frustration. I am just saying that expecting to get everything from an event that is supposed to last for at least half a year the first time it comes around is not really realistic. I am sure some people managed to get everything they wanted, but honestly. That is their loss. It means Iron Banner has nothing more to offer them for the rest of their playtime. What Destiny 2 needs more than anything are more worthwhile grinds, not less.
