"Just use LFG" is NOT an appropriate response to Guided Games criticism!!!
Let's face it, Guided Games is terrible right now. I've listed some problems below, but if you'd rather skip all that go past the dotted lines.
1) Guides NEED to be in the same clan together - Your friend is in a different clan? You can't guide people with them, that's it. Solution: The Guides' fireteam leader must be in a clan. Their clan will be the one that shows up for Seekers, and it is their Oathkeeper Score that will be affected. Players not in that clan can be brought in as guides too, but their clans (or lack thereof) won't be listed for Seekers or have their Scores be affected.
2) Seekers who are bullied by Guides aren't allowed to leave without breaking the rules - Sure, there's a way to leave without penalty, but that only works if everybody in-game agrees to it. Plus, the in-game report function doesn't magically fix this, yet that's what everybody is directed to when they say they have a problem with other players. Solution: If a player tries to leave a match in-progress during Guided Games, they'll be asked why and asked to choose from a list of reasons. If the option chosen is bullying/harassment, they'll be able to leave without penalty regardless of the opinions of the other players.
3) You have to wait an unspecified amount of time with no queue number on the screen - This means you have absolutely no idea where you are in the queue until you're already at the front. If you're in the other room when that happens (because when waiting over an hour for crap like this, you tend to go off and do other things while you wait), you'll likely return to a screen that says "oops, you waited too long", and you'll have to wait all over again. That sucks. Solution: During the waiting period, the time elapsed will be visible along with the player's queue number and an eta on them making it to the front of the queue. Furthermore, the Ghost will say something when the player has reached the front of the queue to notify them.
4) Seekers can only see the clan, as opposed to the specific Guardians, before agreeing to an activity with them - This means the Seeker might end up in a group that's actually worse at the content than they are. This happened to me during the week where Pyramidian was the Nightfall with the Torrent Modifier (that was fun as hell, please make that modifier appear more frequently), I actually ended up carrying my Guides through the strike because they just kept dying. They were good sports about it so I don't blame them, but if I'm spending a Nightfall Ticket AND waiting all that time, I don't want to be the one doing most of the work. Solution: Seekers should be able to view and inspect every Guardian in the Guides' Fireteam before making their decision.
5) Guided Games is ONLY available for two activities so far - Kind of a wasted concept if it's only there for two things. Solution: Guided Games should be available for all Crucible playlists (minus Trials), Regular Strikes, and Patrol. These ones in particular won't require tickets of any kind.

Yes, LFG is much quicker, can be used for more activities, and is more transparent than Guided Games, but it is NOT a perfect solution and simply isn't right for everybody. Simply telling people to use LFG when they complain about Guided Games is stupid.
The fact of the matter is, people asked for in-game LFG for a reason, and Guided Games was Bungie's response to that. Guided Games is something Bungie put in the game because they thought it was something that we wanted, and they failed miserably. We NEED to tell them what's wrong with the system they implemented, and we NEED to tell them what they can do to make it better.
If you don't ask, you don't get. If we don't tell Bungie exactly what is wrong with the current system, it will never improve and will continue to be shit.
