Worried about the dlc.......

I really hope activision learned how D1's first dlc lacked content and respect their pricings for the dlc if it does lack content. I do not side with dlc but since its inevitable at this point i hope for the best. Despite the games flaws im really enjoying it but did notice how much more casual its core game has become. I hope bungie listens and activison does the right thing. ~ Viper

  • I actually enjoyed Destiny's first dlc. If you had friends you might have too, but that will never happen. Am i right or am i right?

    • The dlc better be good. Or else even more people will leave this game. This is what i hope for. More exotics 6 atleast 1 weapon for every class and 3 weapons 2 new strikes and hopefully they make strikes worth playing more crucible maps? A better raid and i hope they give an incentive to do the raid like in d1. Also NO TAKEN.

    • To be fair from what we know it’s been in development for a year , we know there is a new patrol area on mercury so that would suggest straight off there is more to it than dark below . I doubt there is a raid in the downside . If it turns out to be nearer to rise of iron in size than dark below I’ll be ok with that . Assuming the actual content in it is good of course . Hopefully by that time we should hopefully be seeing some of the changes we’ve been asking for . Not trying to sound like a fan boy just trying to put a more upbeat perspective on it

    • Watch these two Old Demos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIp7vZuYzoA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTfhrONAp-c (Go to about 2:00) When Destiny was first being shown off we were promised a Large Shared World Shooter RPG. That was "Ancient Fantasy" + "Hard Science Fiction". That is what it was initially advertised as and what Year 3 D1 was shaping up to be. The problem is that Destiny 2 has taken the franchise into becoming a game that I simply did not want. We got a standard FPS Skill based shooter with PvP set as end-game. It is trying to use the Halo formula to satisfy the competitive shooters. That design choice does not work with Loot based games. You're fighting against human players in the Crucible and you're fighting an army of drones in PvE. What makes PvE fun is being a powerful badass what makes the Crucible fun is the competition and proving your better against a real person with access to the same weapons abilities. They're not the same and should not be balanced as such. It is trying to be a jack of all trades but consequently making it a master of none. There are games that do what Destiny does, and better. Making it a competitive PvP is the opposite of what Destiny was supposed to be and shaping up to be by Year 3. This feels like a betrayal to the people who stuck around and supported Destiny. Bungie should stop trying to make it Halo when that is a completely different formula. PvP does not work as a core aspect in Destiny. They took what could have been an amazing RPG and made it a simple shooter. It discourages the fans who made the first game successful. People aren't happy because Bungie is leaning towards making a standard shooter rather than deliver on the Epic RPG that was promised. Plenty of other online "service" games have loads of content for players to do before they think about content updates and DLCs. Look at games like Borderlands, Diablo, WoW, Elder Scrolls Online, etc. Loads of stuff to do. Sure it is comparable to a standard shooter but Destiny was supposed to be anything but that . It is clear that the developers needed more time to deliver the game's scope and depth that they originally intended to make. Destiny is made by AAA developers, supported by AAA publishers, and is sold as a $60 game. They already have the money and support they need to make a complete product. The fact that it is not a complete game at launch, and is in reality an incomplete foundation that relies on content updates as well as paid DLCs to add things that should have been in the game in the first place, is unacceptable.

You hope Bungie listens to who? How the hell do you think this game became such a mess in thie firsat place? The day Bungie signed a contract with Activision was the day they screwed themselves. All because of the higher ups greed this game is broken...

          • Osiris DLC on Mercury. Lighthouse will be the social space. Probably a raid, 1-2 strikes. 4-5 story missions, couple of new exotics, etc. power level bump.

                • Now that DLC is a 'expected' thing for almost all games, most companies have their first and probably second DLC basically complete by the time the game 'launches'. Whatever the DLC is, it is almost certainly not going to change or be redesigned before it is released. So, take a good look at what D2 is today, because that is probably your best indicator of what at least the first DLC will mimic very closely. My prediction would be a campaign that add a new 'world' and maybe a new Raid and some new strike and crucible maps... That is being optimistic... Worse case would probably be a couple new strike and crucible maps with nothing else...
