So the Final battle with Ghaul would involve him un-zipping his body suit and revealing he was a Magic Space Pony of Friendship and only stole our Light so he could become our friend? ...That would have been a *way* more awesome story ending.

I'm looking at the game with new eyes. The possibilities are endless once your perspective changes. Imagine a whole new line of armor with Bear-care (totally not the Carebears) with a chest piece that has a heart on it. When you hold hands with your fireteam and think positive thoughts, a beam comes out of the heart and does tremendous dps to bosses. Friendship bracelets that act like artifacts in D1 to modify perks.
