What's ironic about all this is the fact that I've held countless hands through VOG, Crota, Oryx, wrath and taniks if that even counts. Then as soon as D2 rolled out during my week of finals (trimesters) I missed 5 days of gameplay and now everyone is making it feel like I missed out on a year. Those same guardians who relied on my input for walkthroughs were complaining that I didn't complete the raid yet, they don't care if you watched the videos or "know what to do", they want to see the emblem. I rest with those who have already stated - too early for these type of posts....
It's not a difficult raid and I'd argue that it isn't "completely different" from past raid encounters.

It's never too early for these kind of posts. As a fellow student I'm sure you understand how much work there is involved in being a student. Add a job and social life to that and I barely have time to play this game as much as I'd like to. I'm already completing this raid in under 50 mins with a focused, experienced, strong crew. While I have to juggle so much in real life where things matter, I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain the raid to newbies. I just wanna get a crew together that put in the level and raid work I have and get moving.

With only 10% of the community having completed the raid (I can provide link), I find it easier to form a group and iron out a few mistakes. We beat the Calus last week with a guy who was deaf and we were able to coach him. I'm a grad student who writes 80 plus pages every 8 weeks and working my full-time career and still have no problem helping others. That's just me, so you do you man. I just think it's a bit much to expect everyone to know everything about a raid encounter within the first couple of weeks being released. I don't understand why everyone thinks this raid is hard and too difficult to explain to someone who can comprehend raid mechanics that are very similar to D1.

Edited by The BEATDWN: 9/29/2017 6:07:28 PMAgain I don't demand people know it. I just don't wanna play with those who don't. So far every group I've been a teacher in has spent more time on a single CP then it takes me to complete a raid. Good for you being a patient teacher but most of us don't wanna lose the time. I finished 3 raids in 3 hours this week and then spent 4 hours with a group of newcomers stuck at the gauntlet trying to be nice. It's just not worth the time I barely had to begin with. OP is directing his post hat people who lie to get in raid groups who could've simply watched a video. If you want a guided run make a team for it, if you want an inexperienced run make a group for it. There nothing wrong with top level players banding together to knock out a quick raid though.

Now you present an issue that I can agree with as I experienced it last night: people lying about their experience. However, I don't see where OP targets this as a problem. I get your point and do end up filtering out inexperienced users after some time, just not within the first month or two.

Yeah it is annoying. I don’t require previous experience or that people even know the raid. I just think people could do some research before hand. I think at this point I found my 6 in Destiny 2 who will complete the raid with me every week now.

Yup. There's an old saying in the NFL "You're only as good as last Sunday."

that better proves a lot of these peoples point. "Those same guardians who relied on my input for walkthroughs were complaining that I didn't complete the raid yet, they don't care if you watched the videos or "know what to do", they want to see the emblem."
