I'm having this issue as well, but on PS4. I've restarted network per the help article (hah), rebooted my console several times, even reinstalled twice. Getting the big, 7 GB 1.05 update takes place without issue. It's the 316 KB update within the game that is not going anywhere. Edit - Was able to get around the issue, but haven't a clue what the problem is. See my update below for slightly more details.

  • This particular issue appears to be related to Meraki's Threat protection. I was having the exact same issue and tried re-installing, etc with no luck. I disabled my "Intrusion detection and prevention" on my Meraki MX and the 316k update downloaded instantly. I re-enabled it after the fact and everything appears to work fine. Not a good solution, but it works. Hopefully Bungie or Meraki can figure out a solution that doesn't involve disabling security.

  • Did you disable Intrusion Detection and Prevention, or Advanced Malware Protection? I already have the former turned off, but AMP on, which is what Meraki support is suggesting the issue as being. Simple enough to test, but that'll require uninstalling and reinstalling again.

  • I believe I disabled both to make sure. No idea why AMP would stop that, but could be the case. If it happens again I can troubleshoot more.

  • Guys, What does your network layout look like? I connected my PS4 directly to my router and the update ran without issue. No issue getting anything from Sony (again, whole 1.05 update downloaded just fine) so there's gotta be a routing issue or something with what Bungie's configured. My network gear is primarily Meraki, and I have a ticket opened with them to see if they can provide any insight. I also have packet captures for reference. Bungie, let me know if you want the info I have.

  • Definitely a Meraki issue. I rewired my network and it worked for me as well. Please post here if they respond to your ticket.

  • What do you mean by rewired your network? I am in a college apartment so I cant really mess with the router or any of the network stuff. How would I do what yall are doing to get around the problem?

  • I have the exact same situation as Falldog. Reinstalled twice, rebooted networks. Still waiting on the 316kb update. It just hangs at the in game downloading update piece until it gives the Oyster error.

  • OK I'm on Xbox one and I'm having the same issue. I updated it the other day and now when I launch the app it just sits there on the 0.0/340.0 KB update screen until the error pops up. I'm not sure what the Meraki gear is that you guys are talking about but I am hard wired into the routerand have been the whole time, even during the update. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
