So, I might be wrong here, but am I the only one that feels like hunters need a little love? Like, to me, it feels like their new subclass is the least different from the one it replaced. IE: arcstrider/bladedancer, sentinel/defender, etc. And probably one of the bigger things that stand out to me is the new special abilities. Like, from a crucible perspective, I feel as though the healing rift and the barrier shield can both be really effective area control abilities that could potentially be instrumental in turning the tide of a match. When you look at the dodge ability, however, it seems to pale in comparison. It can't really help your teammates in any significant way, and on top of that, I don't personally feel that it is incredibly effective when executing it's intended purpose, either. Personally, I feel that it doesn't really help evasion much at all. Even the increased resistance dodge that the arc strider gets doesn't really negate enough damage to really use it to evade incoming fire. Probably it's most effective utility is that it allows you to have an unpredictable precision area (head), that way someone can't set a sniper at head level and fire when you cross the screen. Now, pair it's general ineffectiveness with the increased cool down time added with Destiny 2, and it seems pretty meek compared to the utility of the abilities of the warlock and titan. Sure, the reload is nice, but when you compare that to the titans barrier reload, it is quickly outshined. Aside from that, you get the melee recharge which seems pretty good for PVE but I have a hard time implementing it in PVP. I'm not asking for a nerf of the rift and the barrier, just a little bit of love for the hunter.
