Covenant vs Cabal

Covenant (Halo)

114

Cabal (Destiny)

34

This was suggested as a poll, so who do you think would win? The Covenant or the Cabal? Both collectives both have similar capabilities of destruction, the Cabal being able to blow up planets and moons, the covenant being able to render worlds completely inhabitable, and their troop composition is quite similar as well. For the set up both the Cabal and Covenant have similar fleet sizes and access to all of their weapons, vehicles and troops, including the Almighty for the Cabal and the advantage of ThelVadam's command for the campaign covenant as well as any other special abilities and weapons both sides have to offer. Edit: My thoughts [spoiler]The Cabal would probably lose 7/10 times, assuming they started in a neutral space with a star and some planets. However if the Cabal was able to be dug in a system the covenant would be hard pressed to win, as they could detonate the planets and moons they control thus destroying any covenant forces on or around the objects. • The covenant. They were actually scary to go up against especially on Legendary. The tone of Destiny is too light, I can't take any of the so called threats seriously. We didn't even see one of the Prophets (covenant leadership) until Halo 2 and his elite guard were ballers. In D1 we killed the King and Prince of the Hive, one of the most powerful Vex minds, wiped out the Siva threat, and wiped out the Fallen House of Wolves. And now in D2 we've killed the Emperor of the Cabal. Which of these races is supposed to be a threat again?

        • On a related note, who do you guys think would win in a fight between the Red Legion and Atriox's Banished?

            • This is not going to contribute to the post at all, but the words you’re looking of are “Uninhabitable” or “Inhospitable”. If the Covenant could make planets inhabitable with their laser beams they’d be the kings of terraforming. Now in my opinion I would put the majority of favor in the side of the Covenant simply because (even after trying to read more on Cabal) there’s not a lot examples out side of some text saying “These guys can do some cool stuff” supporting the true destructive power of the Cabal compared to The Covenant.

              • I've got to go with the covenant, if it came to space warfare the covenant would be able to beat them on tactics, also their warp capabilities could put them at any distance they wanted. A ground battle would be a huge stalemate, grunts and jackels would be pretty useless but the elites and hunters would press pretty hard, I'm disregarding brutes as covenant following H3

                • Don't know why covenant is winning. I know it's not shown in Destiny but in the reality the cabal are basically just the covenant but with bigger weapons and no motives, just to destroy everything.

                  • Idk, I'd like to think turning a star into a big bomb could beat those losers in the covenant.

                    • Honestly, the only thing the Cabal have going for them is the Leviathan and the Almighty. And given enough time, both of them can be rendered defunct and or totally destroyed by the Covenant's superior weaponry and tactics. Need I remind you that the Covenant regularly fields assault vehicles with super-heavy-plasma-projectors, and constructed out of warship hull grade materials? Not to mention said warships eventually end up at the ridiculously overpowered 27 kilometer long CSO-Class Supercarrier. Which could probably take on an entire cabal fleet on it's own. Without taking damage. Then there's how the Red Legion regularly mutilates it's soldiers just to marginally increase their abilities. Don't believe me? Legionaries have their fingers and thumbs cut off and replaced by cybernetics for grip strength. Psions literally have their helmets drilled into their skulls. Warbeasts have metal claws surgically implanted into their paws. I haven't noticed anything off about Centurions, Colossi, or Incendiors, but I'd be willing to bet there is.
