The fighting lion is an exotic single shot grenade launcher in Destiny 2, which shares a similar presence to the much beloved Gjallarhorn from the original game. But the gun definitely does not come even close to the power of the Gjallarhorn or any other exotic, as a matter of fact, there are better legendaries then this exotic. Now, what can Bungie do to improve this weapon?
I believe I have an answer, I think that Bungie should tweak the intrinsic perk of the gun "Delayed Gratification" so that instead of holding down the firing button to fire and then releasing the trigger to detonate the shot Bungie should change the perk so that when you are holding down the firing button to fire and the shot is a direct hit to a enemy it will stick to them until you the player releases the fire button and the shot detonates, the longer you hold the shot for the more the damage it will do (Like a fallen cannon).
Of course there should be a limit to how long the shot should be able to charge for, as well as that the shot should still be able to bounce, but as long as it is a direct hit you can charge it but otherwise just allow the original perk of releasing to detonate with no extra damage for holding it when the shot is not a direct hit to a target but increase the default non-direct shots damage to more than 100 because it is way too little. This idea may sound overpowered in PVP but I think if you can get the shot of you it could be balanced for example by dodging or sliding or whatever.
This is all my opinion on what I think should be changed with the fighting lion if you disagree please reply to this post what you think should be changed if you agree please upvote the post, thanks and I hope you all have a great day! :D

Grenade launchers need to be replaced with machine guns. Rocket launchers need tracking. Why the -blam!- were these things removed?

bump, please bungie

I think their is a slew of ways to buff the fighting lion without it being op, first off grenade launchers across the board need some love and so does the tex mechanics grenade launcher. Secondly direct impacts should be more rewarding. (Maybe give it the blinding effect from "flash and thunder") Over all they need to be looked into, I feel simply increasing the reserve ammo for grenade launchers in general would make them more appealing, as well as better reloads or more damage on direct impacts. I also strongly feel as if side arms deserve a much deeper ammo reserve than what they are given as of now.

It's the worst exotic. Can confirm.

They should bring back No Land Beyond.
-
The fighting pussy cat
-
No it doesn't.
-
No it does not need a Buff......Its an energy weapon NOT a power weapon, Bungie buffs it, then people will whinge when it one shots them in the crucible or trials and then will call for it to be Nerfed, Just infuse it in to a Power weapon version of a grenade launcher.

Why? It looks nice in the vault, a vault decoration.

It's pretty much just a shield breaker at this point. Break the sure, swap guns, burn em. Then it'll auto reload the lion, so you can do it again. The thing that sucks about using it this way, however, is that it can only hold 13 ammo. So now you have used your secondary slot, running out of primary happens quite frequently, for some reason. So you end up out of all ammo when you need it most.

Grenade launchers in general need work. I don't think they are in a great spot at all

Agreed it's weak

Edited by Lord Yoink N Bag: 9/22/2017 4:52:18 PMIt needs more than just a buff. This weapon is garbage. I like your idea, however, I don't see that happening

I feel like if it got an ammo buff like 3 round clip it'd be better for pve
-
Your idea would make a good exotic. In my opinion fighting lion just needs a larger clip size. Like 3. Yours would be a cool one for a power weapon.
-
Honestly that's a really good idea but I feel like it's almost not enough like what if instead every time you got a direct hit without a bounce the grenade instantly returned so you could have a much faster fire rate?
-
Just want it to actually break shield in PvE and an option to remove the bouncy grenade effect.
-
I'm pretty sure it's just supposed to be a shitty gun, like the Bane was in Borderlands 2. Actually, scratch that. The Bane had pretty good DPS, but was annoying to use because of the self-slow. You could still kill Terramorphous and crew with the Bane. You can't kill a Legionnaire with the Fighting Lion, let alone Calus.

Edited by Bore: 9/22/2017 6:22:18 PMGood idea but I think they just wanted a secondary grenade launcher and it’s not supposed to be TAKEN seriously

Edited by HellfireEclipse: 9/22/2017 7:34:33 PMIts so bad its funny. Its perk makes you miss...

I think Fighting Lion is okay being a sort of odd weapon out because we don't want another No Land Beyond scenario where it's a powerful weapon with fundamentally unlimited ammo in PvP

i have used it for two days now. i have decided that while it does suck it is still awesome. it sums up what an exotic should be. it does something that no other gun in the game does. if they would just fix the damn reload speed I think it could be usable in some instances. but only having one in the chamber sucks. especially when it doesn't kill a red bar enemy and they come at you afterwards LOL
