Why do games feel like adding a timer to everything make it "hard mode" or "hardcore". It simply doesn't I feel like, I could be a small minority but in a game as gorgeous as destiny 2 I hate the fact that i have to speed past the fun part of the game (gunplay, world scenery) timers on the NF and possibly the hard version of the raid? Come on

Community: we want a good D2 sequel. Bungie: *adds a timer on nightfall and make strikes uber easy so no one gets passed 265 light* Half of the community: NO GO BACK Toxic community: git gud

Edited by DeathPony07: 9/20/2017 5:29:43 AM-blam!- the new nightfall system. It's built for sweaty tryhard neckbeards. That's it. This is a FPS, not -blam!-ing Dark Souls. Only 38% of PS4 players have finished one in 3 -blam!-ing weeks. 2% have finished one on Prestige. That should tell you that your system isn't built for the majority of the player base. People don't want to be timed on a -blam!-ing video game. Make the strikes harder, but get rid of the -blam!-ing timer. You already ruined enough in this -blam!-ing game as it is.

I've always liked cleaning out every area, most rpgs reward you for this. I get the idea, this is a tactical mission, get in, kill the high level targets, get out. I suppose I can eventually be forced to play this way, but it's not ever going to be really satisfying. As others have mentioned, I miss working my way through with a team. Wiping to space could be frustrating but it made the stakes high, forcing you to revive teammates caused everyone to work together in a smarter way. Those are mechanics that added to the team nature of the strike. Forcing everyone to run though at a sprint devalues the team feel. Fix ideas: Why not reset some portion of the time at checkpoints. Make each checkpoint challenging enough to make it close, but reset time so you have a reasonable amount at each stage? This could have been built into the story too - have munitions coming from space at times intervals, or rendezvous with more guardians where everyone dies if you're not there to save them. TLDR: "Running past shit with friends" is no where near as fun as "Shooting shit with friends".

Horrible decision for the timer. Literally saps the fun out of the game and already made one of my friends rage quit the game. Go back to the d1 wipe to orbit.

Edited by One Shot Ted: 9/20/2017 9:25:18 PMTimers make things tedious and frustrating, not "endgame." Timers. Are. Not. Fun. Every timed trial in the history of literally everything ever has sucked. This includes the new nightfall. I'm here to play my video games. I'm here to shoot aliens in the face, not race past them. This is a shooter, not a -blam!-ing Gran Turismo game.

Edited by Powermix24: 9/20/2017 9:15:47 AMThe timer is not the issue , we made it to the Boss fight with 11:30 on the timer , it took Us 9 mins to kill him .............................. we were 303 light , 294 , 297 . Imagine this shit on a 300 Power NightFall , LOL !

wut??? timers in the raid... Lmao if that happens RIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP for like 80% of this community
-
Timers are fine! I just did it today with 2 minutes to spare. It's easy if you now what to do
-
Timers make us have to TRY as opposed to sitting back and D1 Ice Breaking the NF's. It's harder and I've been getting my ass kicked but I'm with it.
-
Timers are fun. I enjoy the hurry up element
-
It's really not that bad. But what is fun is glitching the gauntlet. Check it https://www.instagram.com/p/BZUUv0ujRwd/
-
The death timer is really crappy in the Gauntlet..... impossible to finish if one person fails early on.
-
I don't like the timers as I find them to take the fun away from the Nightfall. That said, it's not as big a deal as people are making it out to be. There are others way of getting your Power up anyways. Also, not everybody deserves to be able to do everything nor does everybody deserve to be able to get everything. Again, I am not a fan of the timers either but whining and crying until I get my way is not something I was brought to do and it's something that Bungie shouldn't cave into (but let's face it, they're gonna cave in sooner than later).

Can’t say much more than what has already been said. NF D1 > NF D2
-
Timers have never been a problem for me, if anything they filter out the players that took hours to do nightfalls by slowly burning adds down.... you actually have to actively participate to get a completion
-
With the implementation of timers (and many other gimmicks, modifiers, artificial difficulty thresholds etc) you can re-introduce activities and as a result create yet another illusion of good amounts of replayable content that boils down to duplicate activities (but this time scarier, spookier, more challenging and more skillful hurr durr)
-
Egh, I like it. Honestly you can't just f'off in the corner with your exotic sniper. You have to like...you know, play the game. Yes, that means running by enemies. But it also means strategically killing them. Like, when we cleared the room right before the boss (in this week's nightfall), that was was very helpful. More anomalies.
-
I don't mind the timer...but the timer with a boss who disappears for three quarters of the fight is straight up not fun and just flat out annoying
-
The time limit feels cheap. It's a cheap way to add difficulty. The Nightfall should have burn damage, and should be much more difficult, but adding a time limit is a horrible way to add difficulty
-
It's a cheap and lazy way to cater to speed runners since it became a thing.
-
no i always wanted to be forced to skip half of the strike to beat an arbitrary timer, thats what really gets me rock hard to play destiny 2 nightfalls /sarcasm/
-
We should run past the shooting the aliens part of the shooting aliens game lol.
-
Timers would be ok if balanced around killing everything as in black spindle
-
Your opinion is invalid. You are using a Mida.
-
Neither is sitting in a cheese spot for an hour sniping all the adds. The timer makes it so you actually have to be engaged in the strike. I think they could give you more time though. Having to speed run it isn't as fun either.
