I dont think they are allowed to do that. Im pretty sure they need to give you an advance warning of atleast a month (i feel like its 3 though)
And must have a reasonable answer as to why.
Not sure where you are but im certain that is how it is with my grandma being a landlord of multiple properties and having the unsavory kind here and there.
You should see if you can dispute it. That sounds like a strong case in your favor.

Yhea but he should be able to petition it. Eapecially under certain circumstances. Its more just being an ass about it than op being the bad guy.

It's up to the landlord, and the landlord said if he doesn't pay on time he gets evicted. It's in their lease I'm sure.

All states are slightly different I think for me it is at least 1 month, 3 days is just ridiculous
