I love how people use the excuse that they are scared of getting banned "due to a couple disconnections" as if that was what happens in other games with the banning system in.
No, stop telling shameless lies.
If you have gotten banned in the past it´s exclusively because you have disconnected far more times than you want to admit and you got justly punished for it.
No one gets banned "because they lagged a couple times"
The truth is that you want to be able to pick and choose and quit at the smallest inconvenience or loss and you do not care leaving behind dozens upon dozens of struggling teammates.
Which would be perfectly fine if you could at least openly admit it, but instead you oppose these banning/punishing systems by pretending that you are just concerned.
No, you are not concerned, you are self-serving and selfish, and you fear that the second punishments roll in, you will no longer be able to act on it.

I'd have to agree, the technology we have now days can tell, for the most part, which side dropped and why.

Edited by gepi79: 9/15/2017 12:45:55 AMPunishment means you suffer from leavers and trolls because you can not leave yourself because you are punished. Instead of punishment, it would be easier to just quit and abort the match for the benefit of all. A victory against less players or trolls is lame and a waste of my time. Punishment makes no sense. In my experience, most people want to play and not leave.

Please stop spreading "for the benefit of all" lie as you have done in my own post because that´s a self-serving lie. It´s not the benefit "of all" it´s your benefit because you are used to quit matches a la carte. You keep talking of this "all" collective when in truth it only benefits triggerquitters.

I have quit only one match: Where I was alone against 4. In what scenario is leaving a bad match (trolls, 3v4, 2v4. 1v4) not the best choice ? Do you like to play against trolls or otherwise hopelessly handicapped teams ?

If i have said it once i have said it a million times. Punishment systems do not punish the occasional disconnect between completed games. It´s when you disconnect more often than it´s natural that you get punished. And usually, punishments start very light (1 match at 50% exp) and slowly rise up in intensity and duration up to the temporal/permanent ban when you continue to ragequit despite being warned repeatedly. You simply CANNOT get banned or even punished if you are playing normally like you claim to be playing.

Edited by gepi79: 9/15/2017 1:08:41 AMIn Overwatch you are punished every single time you leave. And I am not talking about a ban. There are other punishments that Bungie would apply before a ban. E.g.: - a timeout. - loss of rank in case Destiny 2 will introduce it. - loss of credits. - loot chance penalty. Leaving a bad game (≠ hard game) is the fastest and easiest way to get a good game. There will always be leavers for many reasons: - network problems. - real life concerns. Right now I am not afraid of being punished myself because I have solved the "cabbage" network problem with a pppoe connection and because most matches were fun and with normal players.
-
That´s a shameless lie. In Overwatch you do not get punished every time you leave. I been playing Overwatch since it´s release, so do not try to pull that bs on me.

You must play ranked/competitive. You do not lose anything in arcade or quickmatch AFAIK. If you want to leave competitive, you get displayed a red messsage box AFAIR and you lose some SR points if you actually quit. I lost many SR because of technical problems.

I ended up last season 200 short of Master. Did make it to Master at some point during the season with a nice win streak but fell back to diamond and could not raise up since then. And obviously if you quit it acts as if you had lost. Nothing you cannot easily recover if, again and for the last time, you complete matches consistently. And that´s not a "punishment", it´s the normal result of quitting a match. You lost it by abandoning it.
