Completely wrong. It's a masterpiece in game design.
-
It really isnt
-
VoG was a masterpiece. Leviathan is tedium central.
-
VoG was no masterpiece. It was just the first.
-
You have that completely backwards. VoG is holding plates, then holding a conflux, then holding 2, then holding 3, then for gatekeeper you hold more plates, then you hold portals. No puzzle solving whatsoever, mediocre jumping puzzles.
-
With your description of VoG, I firmly believe you don't know what you're talking about. Yes, in order to open the vault of glass, you have to hold three plates simultaneously while preventing the praetorians from capturing them. But, that's where your story goes awry. There is no "holding confluxs." You defend them. Then you destroy oracles. Then you defeat the Templar, while holding and using the relic. Then you avoid the gorgons. Then you solve the jumping puzzle. Then you destroy the gate keeper. Then you open up the portals and obtain the relics. Then, after the gatekeeper battle has been accomplished, you face atheon with a different set of mechanics. GG KID
With your description of VoG, I firmly believe you don't know what you're talking about.
Probably ran it more times than you and also enjoy it more.
Yes, in order to open the vault of glass, you have to hold three plates simultaneously while preventing the praetorians from capturing them.
Standing in a spot and shooting at static spawn points.
But, that's where your story goes awry. There is no "holding confluxs." You defend them.
Standing in certain places, shooting at static spawn points.
Then you destroy oracles.
Oracle phase is cool, but simplistic. Way too many hobgoblins, way too many minotaurs. This phase also involves lingering in certain stations waiting for something in a set spot to appear to then shoot at.
Then you defeat the Templar, while holding and using the relic.
One guy gets relic at a time and uses it very minimally. This phase also just tacks on a little bit of the previous phase. Most of team is sitting around Ward of Dawn, killing enemies and shooting a static target.
Then you avoid the gorgons.
Very short and very easy. There are static gorgons, and this whole phase is just running a certain route with minimal timing required.
Then you solve the jumping puzzle.
There's nothing puzzle about it. Jump down linear, descending platforms as they appear.
Then you destroy the gate keeper.
Gatekeeper phase is good mix, but still simplistic. Chase Gatekeeper and clean arena, hold plates to send guys back, guys kill 1 to 3 enemies, then hold a conflux in mid.
Then you open up the portals and obtain the relics.
Just kill the enemies and it appears. If you go blind just flash your ability button.
Then, after the gatekeeper battle has been accomplished, you face atheon with a different set of mechanics.
Copy of Gatekeeper and Oracles. Shoot things as they appear. People outside do the same (on a plate again), meet outside to shoot boss.
GG KID
Damn right pal.

You are clueless. I explain why your knowledge of Vault of glass is juvenile. Then, I further explained the true mechanics to the vault of glass. Then, like some jaded little ex-girlfriend, you keep coming like you don't understand the point. The point was, you don't know shit. And every single word you type further confirms it. I know you like to think that you come across as intelligent. But, unfortunately for you, you appear as a fool. Perhaps you should work on that.
-
Yikes. No legitimate rebuttals in the face of my corroboration. I don't know shit? What could you possibly be basing that off of? I just served up a platter of why VoG is a monotonous tedium. Accept it or try to refute it with your own reasoning. I don't care if you do it here it not. At least do it in your head. I'm not interested in listening to you resorting to attacking my character when you don't want to defend your stance anymore.
-
yes but while holding plates you were fighting heaps of enemys , you know killing things.. not doing stupid crap like walking about a garden like a fairy with a seed pod... its like a kindergarden raid.
-
A raid is more than just harder hoard mode. There should be sections that don't involve just mindlessly killing shit. People love zelda dungeons for a reason, and he don't go in there waving that master sword around and every little thing. There are puzzles and riddles and noncombat aspects too, and there should be some of that im destenies raids as well.
-
i was doing raids while you were popping pimples i,ll bet, like in everquest 2 and WoW etc... its about balance. a few mechanics are cool to stop it being full on tank and spank but this raid is nothing but a dance or a syncronised swimming emulator.. theres no sense of epic fight at all.. just boring tedious switches and wipe mechanics.
-
Don't be go and make an ass of yourself by making baseless assumptions because I don't agree with your opinion. I've played everquest, wow for a while, and ffxi for a good majority of my mmo days. (ffxiv now). Raids don't have to be just mindlessly going from zone to zone slaughtering cannon fodder to just get to the boss.
If it makes you feel better, I've played d&d as well in my younger days. That's true raiding.
-
I respectfully disagree sir. I prefer to hold a sync plate whilst blowing up Vex instead of doing some Splinter Cell type stealth crap in a garden to avoid some dogs.
-
That dude obviously never held a plate in VoG Hard Mode at Level 28. Minotaurs crushing you, Hobgoblins one-shotting you. Great days.
-
You prefer the actual tedium then.
-
each to their own fella :)
-
Your opinion doesn't change the content of the raids. Nor does mine. I don't care what you prefer, but when you claim Leviathan is a tedium, you're provably wrong.
-
It looks nice and sounds nice, but the actual mechanics are dumb. The checkpoints are also trash. And so is the loot.
-
Still completely false. The mechanics are brilliant combinations of everything Bungie has made a raid out of. It breathes true experience as grand challenge designers.
-
I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not
-
I'm not. I think it's pretty obvious.
-
Ok, firstly, the mechanics aren't even fun. The penultimate scene is basically a re skinned crash bandicoot level, there is only one boss, the loot sucks, the respawn system sucks, and the checkpoints are tedious.
