I tend to play solo exclusively, and while you can tell when you hit a team who are communicating, it doesn't necessarily mean you can't beat them. It's only if you get teamed with a group of 'tards that it becomes impossible. You do have the option of the team voice channel as well. As long as your team has a reasonable clue, you can still fight back. Don't be the guy that runs off on his own and gets gunned down by the enemy team and then complains. Follow your team mates and provide cover fire.
