Not starting any war just stating my opinion. After finally getting a PS4 and using the controller I can honestly say it's a thousand times better than any controller they've had.
I still prefer Xbox controllers and I'm still getting confused with the "x" button... Lol. But it's a solid controller, wasn't really expecting to get used to it so quickly.
I just don't care for the touch pad or light, both seem pretty useless and gimmicky.
How do you guys feel about it? Which controller do you prefer?

I played on the PS3 controller at my friend's. It was okay, but I much prefer the Xbox One controller. It basically clicks with my hands whereas the PS controller leaves awkward space due to which I feel like I have less control.
-
The touchpad now just functions as another button. It isn't really used to be like it was made for. I believe the light was used for knowing which controller is player 1-4. It actually feels really weird going back to the offset joysticks after using the PS4 controller for so long. I haven't used the Xbox One controller yet, but I really don't like the 360 controller now.
-
I prefer Xbox. Got a couple of those sexy design your own controller. They are both good but it's the offset sticks. PS4 literally makes my left thumb hurt after about an hour.
-
Whichever console you play on the most will obviously have your preferred controller. I'd say 99% of people on these forums have played one console over the other for a significant amount of hours. For me if I was to pick up an Xbox One controller it wouldn't feel right at all because I've played on PlayStation all my life, but if an Xbox One player picked up a PS4 controller he'd think the same as me. There is no better controller, just what you're used to.

Edited by Vortex: 8/23/2017 2:07:55 PMI personally thought the Xbox 360 controller was the best xbox controller. It literally fits in your hand almost perfectly I dislike the Playstation controller because of how it's at a wierd angle and has this strange shape to it
-
I'd say the Xbox 360 controller is the best controller ever made :) But that's just me.
-
guess it depends on handsize. heard a lot of people have trouble with the ds4 being too small, but to me its perfectly fine and everything works as intended. i even liked the xb360 controller EXCEPT its digipad. that was horrible.

PS4 controller is tiny...
-
I like the touch pad when it's incorporated well. Infamous Second Son had some cool uses for the touch pad since it was a PlayStation exclusive
-
Honestly I can play on both but I got some big ass hands. So when play with any PlayStation controller I will always hit my other thumb with the opposite stick. All in all the controller is just too small for me
-
At least PS4 takes the time to NAME there controls
but I also like the feel/layout better
Preference aside the Xbox controller is factually better when it comes to latency and battery life Bring on the angry fanboys
-
The 'X' button problem is the only one I really have. Other that that, I can switch between them freely and I personally don't have Preference. I love them both The DS4 is a massive step up from Its predecessor though. The DS3 was shit IMO.
-
I prefer the PS4 controller. A few years ago the Xbox controller gave me carpal tunnel syndrome that took a couple years to heal. I really do not like the asymmetrical design. Morever, I have tried every Xbox controller (standard, Elite, Scuff, etc.)

Edited by Whitethejoe: 8/23/2017 1:32:22 AMPlayStation. The Xbox ones are cancer. They kill my hand after about 30 minutes and I hate how the left stick is higher up than the right one. Nobody uses the dpad more than the joystick. I don't want it closer than my joystick. I also hate how the triggers are smaller and curve in instead of flat/out. I've had 2 ps4 controllers for 3 years and don't have a single problem on either of them. Not one thing is lose, broken, or tearing. And if you're having problems with the controller dying that probably means you should go do something else, because I've never had it die on me.
-
PS4 controller, I like my joysticks to be next to each other, not on opposite sides of the controller
-
Xbox. Ps4 controller feels so small in my hand..

Edited by LahDsai: 8/22/2017 4:24:02 PMI really wish they did more with the touch pad like swiping between loadouts or allowing gesture macros. I liked how Warframe used it for abilities and NeiR:Automata had pressing different parts of the touchpad accessing quick-menus. Not perfect, but a start. Hopefully Okami will capitalize on it. I can't think of a better game to utilize the technology.

You said exactly how i feel about the 2 controllers. Ps4 controller is the best Dualshock yet. But the touchpad, light, and it talking are all gimmicks i dislike. The light especially is annoying gaming at night with the lights off. Even with the brightness down it's still too bright. Controller is comfy though. I like the overall design of the Xbome controller more. Feels better in my hands and i like it being asymmetrical. It's all opinions of course.
-
Xbox all the way. I don't have tiny girl hands, and the asymmetrical design is 1000x better. I even use an asymmetrical controller on my PS4, because DS4's suck harder than a tornado full of vacuums. I honestly think that people that prefer the Dualshock are inferior.
-
Xbox 360 controller is the best controller all time Xbox One is good but sometimes it felt like a downgrade DualShock 4 Controller is good compared to the DS3 one but it cannot really compete with the xbox controllers for me
-
Never understood how one can use such tiny controllers (PS4)
-
Edited by Green Twister: 8/22/2017 11:21:09 PMXbox , i can't play fps for very long without my hand having cramps with a ps controller.
-
If it's PS4 vs Xbox One controller i'd have to go with PS4. It's like they took everything thats good about the 360 controller and made it into their own.
-
I like the XB1 controller. They've always felt super sturdy to me.
